Personal Narrative: The First Day Of Seventh Grade

The First Day of Seventh Grade “Ring Ring,” sang the clock. I open my eyes. “The first day of seventh grade,” I groaned. I leak out of my bed, reluctant to get up. I drag my feet as I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. “Good morning,” said Mom cheerfully. “Ugg,” I groaned, “I don’t want to go to school.” “It will be fun,” Mom said. Even she knew that wasn't true. “Yeah right, it will be as boring and miserable as every day of school.” “You don’t know that, maybe you should give 7th grade a try, you might even like it.” “Whatever,” I mumble. I hobble over to the pantry and grab my cereal. I grab a bowl and a spoon and start shoveling those tiny disgusting circles down my throat. After breakfast my Dad drives me to school. “Have a good day,” said my Dad …show more content…
I walk down the hall and into the gym with all of the other kids. The first thing I do is trip over my own two feet and faceplant, hard. Luckily only everyone saw that so it wasn’t too embarrassing. I turn red, I walk over to an open spot by the wall to sit down. I heard snickers, I just wanted to be alone. After we were finally dismissed from the gym, I{ walk to my locker and start unloading my heavy bag. When I almost have everything in my locker, everything in my hand falls to the ground. I hear a crack as my brand new pencil box shatters. I pick up everything that fell and jam it in my lock, I pocket a pencil and move on to my first period

By the time I got back up there the bell was going to ring and I would go down and eat lunch. The bell rang and we all rushed downstairs and sat down. After lunch my headache was gone so I didn’t go back to the office. I had E.L.A. for an hour, then I went to study hall for the rest of the day. When school got out at 3:25, Ava, my friend, came up to me and said “Mia, do you have any homework because if you don’t, you should come to my house.”…

After 4 hours of math, science and history it was finally time to get our stuff and walk over to the junior high for the 8th grade graduation rehearsal. I needed to go get my stuff from my locker with the other 150 kids that also needed their stuff. I fight through all those people and managed to get to my locker. I grabbed my backpack with my lunch and the book I’ve been reading “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”. Now that everyone has their stuff, we started walking.…

As the bell rings, the teacher comes up to me saying “Next time pay attention instead of looking at the clock, time will pass by faster”. I carelessly just nod my head and walk away. As I looked around at my new classmates on my first day of public school, I was in complete shock. All around me I saw students who did not care in the slightest about their education and who saw school as simply a chore instead of an adventure. They slumped down in their chairs, cheated off of each other left and right, rolled their eyes at teachers, and spent each day watching the clock, waiting for the bell to ring that would released from their “prison.” That August morning, I felt like I was in a completely different world: one where I did not belong.…

I laid on my bed and stared up at the plain ceiling and thought to myself, “Tomorrow is going to be terrible.” I walked up to Jefferson High school. The school towered over me as if it was going to engulf me. I pulled open the heavy glass door, took a deep breath, and rubbed the sweat off my hands onto my pant leg. As soon as I stepped inside, a surge of worriedness came over me.…

Lifeless, emotionless, perhaps too much coffee for some of us, nothing new. It had been two years of middle school, and it was nothing we hadn’t seen before. For us, it wasn’t the chant of new, but more instead. More homework, more classes, more friends, more problems, more effort, one more year, more work.…

That Day in Fourth Grade “People come into our lives for a reason, bringing something you must learn, and we are led to those who help us most to grow if we let them and we help them in return. -Glinda” One of my best friends today, Teonna Frye, has influenced a lot of the choices that have made me into who I am today. I first met her as a “not-so-little,” brown-haired fourth grader. She was a giant that towered over all the kids in our grade.…

We walked into the air conditioned building from the smoldering heat. This was the hard part; Jordy and I had to part ways and go to different classes. As we left each other the nerves grew inside me like a shaken up soda waiting for a fool to open it and explode. Praying that I had friends in my class, I walked in unsure if my legs were weak because of the anxiety I was feeling about who I was going to eat lunch with or the long hike I was going to have to take daily to Mrs.…

For the first five years of elementary school, I attended the small school located at the back of our church’s property. Enrollment ranged from about 10-15 students in 1st through 8th grade. The last three years of my grade school experience were spent attending Lodi Seventh-day Adventist Elementary. This school went from kindergarten to 8th grade and fed into Lodi Academy, so in all, kindergarten through 12th grade! I came from a small, two-room school, and seeing as I was not very accustomed to being with such a large body of students, suddenly becoming immersed in a class with more students than that of my entire old school was definitely intriguing!…

All of a sudden a chill ran down through me and my hands started to sweat of nervousness as I started to write down the homework.…
