It looked like a highway would looked if there was a traffic blockup, but it seemed like it was moving forward to them. Then an explosion went off behind him. He yelled for his brother to go find their father. Eric also set out to find his dad. He headed toward the medical center to find that it had been damaged by the explosion. He went inside to see if he could find his father, but he couldn’t get anyway to get in without putting himself in danger. He scanned the area for his brother, but with a thick haze blanketing the area, he couldn’t see more than ten feet in front of him. Then he heard a machine slowly getting closer to him. He knew his father, if he survived the blast, would find someway to escape whatever was seemingly attacking them. Know his attention shifted to finding his brother. He ran toward the three helicopters that they had been able to save. One of them was damaged, another was just a piece of metal, and one seemed undamaged. He quickly assessed the situation. If he could find someone to pilot to fly the helicopter, he could get out of there.
“Eric!” said a familiar voice.
“Dewey! Did you find dad?”
“Well we have to get out of here.”
“Not without dad.”
Look, I know this is hard to hear, but in all likelihood, he’s either dead, or to already out of here. Now get on the helicopter.
“But we don’t have a pilot.”
“I know, that’s why I’m going to try and find one.”
“Are you boys Eric and Dewey?” said a man approaching them. It seemed almost as if he had been shot and was now limping.”
