Personal Narrative: The Elkhorn Area High School Varsity Football Rivalry

A blackberry moment of mine was when the Elkhorn Area High School Varsity Football Team won the game against Delavan-Darien High School - the biggest rivalry in Southeast Wisconsin. Just talking about it puts a smile on anyone’s face that was at that game. This rivalry dates back to 1995 and has such high tension that the whole state knows about it. It was my freshman year of high school and I had not experienced the rivalry before but the upperclassman did a great job introducing it to us freshman. “Delavan Week” is what we call the week we play Delavan, whichever sport it may be and when the game comes around, it is intense.
