Ten fingers. What can we count on ten fingers? Most of you could count how many siblings you have, how many days until winter break, or how much money you have in your backpack. For me, I can count how many schools I've been to so far in my life, 8. It may not seem like a lot but consider they are towns, cities, and even countries apart.People say it's easier for me since I was "little" and I won't remember the friends I've made or worry about customs I had to change from moving to a different place. I've lived surrounded by me and family moving all the time and I'm want to tell you about the effects of constantly moving can have on a child. First off, customs, traditions, and knowledge change depending on where you go. According to Robert Charles Wilson in his book Blind Lake, “Understanding is better than ignorance. Ignorance, unlike life, unlike narrative, is static. Understanding implies a forward motion, thus the possibility of change.” (Wilson, 263) Without understanding something, people would never learn anything. Without learning anything, people would become prideful believing that we know everything, when in reality, nobody knows everything.…

A universal theme for me moving from Texas to California is overcoming. I was 8 years old when my family moved, and had to overcome knowing no one, a new school, and being out of my comfort zone. At this age you tend to start making good friends, all hang out in groups, and be less adventurous. My parents kept saying, “Find people who like the same things as you, and everything else will be easy”. The next week I did just that.…

When solving the problem, he adds them by counting from 1 to 11, and he seems to have drawn 2 circles and then 9 more, following the time sequence.…

Things you experience are one of the major factors in who you become. I am 27 years old and have moved 26 times in my life. This has made me extremely resilient to a variety of situations, especially change. I generally welcome chaos and get bored extremely easily with repetition because I am so used to things changing frequently. Most of the places I moved to were similar enough culture wise, but some of the places, like Chattanooga, TN, were very different from what I was used to.…
