My siblings and I giddily ran down the steps of our apartment to our vehicle.
Once we all had piled in my Mom told us in a stern voice, “ Buckle your seat belts.”
The drive to the store was short and did little to dampen our excitement. As we exited the vehicle my Dad was busy unlocking the rear entrance to the store. One by one we entered. We could hear a loud HUM, HUM, HUM coming from the store’s machinery. I tried to cover my ears to block out the sound but the noise was to great for my makeshift earplugs.
