Improved Essays
There was always a simple dream, and hope that made twinges of excitement flow through my veins, the dream was to own my first car. The waiting was unbelievable, I could not imagine the day my dreams would come to pass, yet I think of it daily. Nothing would have convinced me to go apart from acquiring my first car. once I had it, I could have an opportunity to do what I love most, especially going on sightseeing at my own convenient time, and many exciting places I have heard and read from newsprints, and on TVs. Getting my driver’s license was just part of the battle, but my biggest challenge was raising the money to acquire the car.
My desire for cars begun in my early years in high school, my friends would drive me to and from school, usually we would go to out and grab a bite at restaurants, and occasionally shop at local stores in the Denver metro area, time management was so easy. I was employed three months after my high school in February 2013, six months down the line I saved up enough money to get myself a car. In August 2013, I did a thoroughly search on cars at garages and on internet, I later found one on craigslist website. A nice car from what I saw, but I needed to see it myself

The car had just received a brand new pearlescent black protective coating paint, on either side of the car I could not find an imperfection. As I walked round the car I noticed that all four 19-inch wheels had been polished to perfection, I opened the driver’s door and to my surprise the interior was almost perfectly polished. I started the car and opened the hood to check the engine, the rumbles and sounds of v-6 supercharged 3.5-liter engine with 350 horsepower made me felt that it is the one. I was stunned and could not even bargain to bring the price down, so do all my friends. I paid him, got all the necessary document and we drove back to my

My only criteria when buying the car was that I needed a moon roof. It is nine o’clock at night and I am riding around in my new car with the moon roof open and the windows down. I stop at an empty parking lot, turn the car off, and recline the seat. I am looking up at the sky, counting the many stars and enjoying the scenery. I am fascinated by the brightness that each star has.…

The vehicle that caught my eye was firstly one that I could afford and secondly one that still had an extended used car warranty on it. I was all set to buy a Holden Commodore, however, the price tag way exceeded my budget so I settle for Ford station wagon. Deep down, I didn't think I would ever need it, however, a few months later I was having problems with the gearbox. I took the vehicle to the car dealer in my town and despite having purchased the used vehicle at auction and in a different town, they honored the warranty and fixed my…

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

I'm going to tell you about the time I totaled my first truck. It was not a fun experience all the questions and talking to the cops it was not fun. Anyways how it happens is pretty simple I was just driving home from work all is well. Until I see a massive muddy area on the road ahead and knowing my luck it just happens to go right onto a bridge that goes over a creek. I was driving a 1999 Ford F150 extended cab four wheel drive.…

I think. After a few weeks, the pressure eased, and we met some nice people; Buck and Mimi Lovelace, who also had a Porsche. Theirs was new, but heavier body style, and with the old engine. Both their fathers were generals, and we enjoyed their company. She was a Christian Scientist,…

Josiah, I liked the way you structured your introduction to your meaningful place, by juxtaposing it against conventionally sought tourist attractions and by painting a quaint, picturesque image using the details along Reesor Road. As such, the Robert Frost allusion fittingly contributes to the tranquil atmosphere with which Reesor Road is portrayed. A poignant point in your essay was when you mentioned that your family entrusting the Toyota for your utility resembles a rite of passage. How might this shift in faith as you enter emerging adulthood relate to parental expectations of your obligations as a young adult?…

This was what took place on the day I bought my first car. It was a green Ford Focus hatchback, and I loved it every bit of it, even its unnatural green shell. That being said, I despised the fact initially of driving a manual. The learning process was a race against time however, with each stall I was sure my car was losing the little life it still had left in the 12 year old body.…

After five hours under Mrs. Gonzalez’s 1997 Plymouth, my hands were so dirty I had to wash them ten times just to see my fingernails again. She was a familiar face around the shop, given that neighborhood thieves had routinely targeted her car. This time, though, they had gone too far. Someone had crawled underneath the car and cut out the valuable catalytic converter, and she couldn’t afford a replacement. When I looked at her and said, “That’ll be $563,” her face turned pale.…

At 6 a.m. every morning, the deafening tone of my alarm would signal the beginning of a new day. My morning routine sticks to the same monotonous schedule: a shower, getting dressed, a small breakfast, and a short drive to school. Most mornings, that five minute drive is nothing more than a mundane fraction of my day. But what I never consider is what these five minutes represent, which is the independence that I worked so hard for. If you ask anybody about their first car, you will only hear countless stories and fond memories, no matter how old or rusty their car was.…

My first car was something that I greatly was looking forward to getting as a child and my interest in getting one grew, as the days got closer to my sixteenth birthday. The first car I owned was a Automatic Black 2004 Ford f-150 truck, which I discovered on a website called Craigslist. It was priced at five thousand nine hundred dollars with only eighty-four thousand miles on it, which in my case was great considering that I could only afford a seven thousand dollar car. The truck came with all manual locks and windows and also had a small amount of hail damage that could really only be seen at a certain angle. But even with reasonable price on the truck I still attempted to negotiate for an even lower price to further my luck.…

Being part of the generation who grew up watching Fast and the Furious films has always made me want to drive a car. At that time I knew I still had a while before I could drive, but any chance I got to be in the driver seat I would. My first time I ever got behind the wheel was right after I watch the fast and the furious in 2001. It was during the summer, my mom was washing her car and according to her “I accidently locked myself inside and somehow I managed to turn the car on and started backing up the car.” My mom was so scared she started yelling “put the car on park” “put the car on park” but I had no clue what she meant.…
