The Dog
By: jay I have been scared many times in my life but one scare left me afraid of a certain type of species since. In this event one person had to go to the hospital and the other (which was me) had to stay away from that house for a very long time. The event made me realized to fear or to stay away from a very common lesson in life. In a way I am thankful it happened because if otherwise, I would have been caught by a dog thinking all it would do was me in the face. I don’t remember when it happened, but I do remember it was on summer break. Me and my two cousins Thomas and Carter just came home from a Bingo that my great grandma has made in a way a tradition. While they played Bingo and cards we were at the park. When we came back

So a couple of weeks ago I was at a horse show, and keep in mind, horse show people are the most extra group of people I've ever known in my life. A lot of people bring their dogs to these shows, and on this specific day someone had brought their little fluffball. So obviously, I was obligated to pet it because it's law that you have to pet the tiny fluffy thing, and then his owner, completely unsolicited, goes "ah yes, this is Francois. He’s a Meagle-poo". First of all, who names their dog Francois?…

I turn on the sink and splash my face with the ice cold water, turning off the sink I look into the mirror, and grimace. My hair is matted to my head, my eyes bloodshot from crying, my clothes clinging to my sweaty body.…

One of the endearing attributes about my mother is she loved animals. I remember the two hound dogs she received as a gift from her brother, my Uncle Timmy. My mother said they were enhorre, which means lazy. She said, "All they do is sleep all day and eat like a horse." Whenever strangers came around they would raise their heads, look at them, and drop their heads back down and go back to sleep.…
