“Did we win the cup?”

“Go see for yourself, he said.”
I get up and walk through the tunnel, as I get closer I hear cheering, it get louder and louder, I walk out of the tunnel and the game is tied 3-3 in the 4th overtime. The arena erupts, I turn and see Datsyuk, no one is near him, it's just him against the goalie, he dekes and SCORES! It is hard to say that a game in the NHL has no effect on you in the playoffs. However, if there was it would have to be game one of the regular season. The game was the New York Rangers vs the Chicago Blackhawks, the pregame would be the banner raising ceremony for the 2015 Stanley Cup Champions. Then, after what seemed like a ceremony that took 2 hours long it was game time.…

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

Standing outside the Pittsburgh Penguins locker room after Game 5 of the Stanley Finals against the Nashville Predators I had never been more excited of the career path I chose. The adrenaline and anticipation as we wait for the locker room to open up for interviews only makes me more excited as I know I will be the only woman with a camera pushing and shoving for that perfect shot. Getting to see my favorite team get to the Stanley Cup Finals and being able to film every step along the way is a moment I will always remember and being able to be a part of history as the Penguins clench the series and win back to back cups. The parade that followed was unreal as all of Pittsburgh turned out for the team and there I was filming every moment. These two moments are only a few that have made me want to work in the sports industry as a cinematographer, editor, or producer.…

Quarter past the hour, the bus was swamped as a freeway at traffic hour. Orca blue had camouflaged the city; fortunately, accents of flaming red had made their presence felt. But then I found out that I needed to do the things my coach said and forget what the other girls were doing and focus on what I was doing in my own way and that i needed to pay attention of how I was playing and concentrate on how all the girls passed the puck and that I needed to start being more confident of I play. Hockey has taught me that anything is possible and that I just need to make goals to accomplish them. At first when I started out playing hockey, I had a goal that I learn to do a crossover in two weeks.…
