Personal Narrative: The Day We Quit Dying

Improved Essays
Hello Julie,

While reading your feedback, I cannot but to think of another quote: “The day we quit learning is the day we die.” (Michael Scott). It is true that what differentiate us as human beings among creatures, is the way we use our brain and mind in learning. Thank you for the reading recommendation, I will add it to my future reading inventory.

Thank you again and looking forward to learning more with you,

Ismail

On Thursday February the twenty fifth during the tear down of our second stage show Our Vital Struggle, I witnessed Jim Jenkins verbally accost a student. He yelled “Turn that fucking music down” at our sound board operator Marissa Walker. This drove her into the closet where I found her hiding obviously terrified. When I began to talk to Mr. Jenkins he then began to yell at me¸ at which point I asked him into the hall way and told him that it was not acceptable to yell at or bully students and that he needed to calm down or leave. At that point the stage manager came out and ejected Mr. Jenkins because he had scared Marissa walker to tears.…

2014 and 2015 were my fleeting lifespan's worst years. No major, life-or-death events happened. I just have felt so very alone even amongst friends and family. I can't bring myself to talk to anyone about what I'm feeling, this whole bundle of negative emotions constantly accumulating inside me. Talking to people about what I feel just makes me feel selfish, knowing how others are suffering more so.…

“Beep Beep Beep!” My alarm usually screams at me to wake me from my usual unforgiving short bedtime hours, but not today. Today, waking up without the assistance of that cringe worthy noise, with eyes still heavy, I reached my arm out from under the cozy blankets and switched the alarm button to off, as it was no longer needed. Bringing my arm back into my side, with my eyes still closed I laid there wondering why this morning I did not have to be shaken back to life. I easily narrowed it down to the strange dream I had just had probably moments before waking up.…
