I knew from the moment I walked in to Sleepy Hollow park in Des Moines that I was going to have a good time. I was there for the Renaissance Faire during the Pirates and Wenches week. The smell of food and the sound of chatter was heavy in the air as a man dressed as a knight gave us a wristband, confirming that we had paid to get into the fair. I grinned at Sydney, and she smiled back, our excitement showing. My parents talked about the events as they looked over the schedule, but I wasn’t listening.…

Exposure to something unknown can affect everyone in a different way, but videogames give power that people would never obtain otherwise. Playing League of Legends has become an extremely common activity of my life since I began playing what seems like decades ago, but in actuality has been only two years. League of Legends is more than a game, with regular people getting paid as much, if not more, than athletes in the NFL, NBA, NHL, FIFA, and etc. I logged on and was almost immediately invited to a game by my friend Bryce and his cousin Krél.
