Decent Essays
I sat in the office all day and try to keep up with all that was going on with the new patient information that needed to be put into the computer, updates, insurance, and everything else that is still a blur. When Donna and I came back from lunch I mentioned that I needed to get on the computer, because I learn best hands on. She stayed right there with me and walked me through it, but after a while, I got panicky and had to let her take over. Donna later showed me how to print and send out reminders of patient appointments. Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

While most kids were outside playing in the mud and dirt, I was sitting inside on a couch, comfortable, clean, and happy to do so. As a child, I detested the idea of getting my clothes dirty. I loved to be able to maintain the pristine cleanliness of my outfit, so I often refused to play outside. Instead, I resorted to a crimson red Gameboy SP with a blazing LED screen, almost too big for my hands, for my childhood action. I’d live out intense fantasies in that three inch square.…

Many factors come into place when it's time to replace or upgrade one's computer. I have had three laptops over the duration of five years that needed replacement, and the one I currently use that needs to be replace. Prior to transitioning to the online setting I never really paid attention to the signs. Things had gotten so bad that my computer screen began to separate from my keyboard though still able to function. However, now I have to be a lot more cautious as a online student.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

I have always been interested in technology and how it works. Whenever I would get a new technological device, I would instantly start playing with it and figure out everything it is capable of. I also enjoy helping other people figure out how to make their electronics work; even if it is something as simple as explaining to my grandparents why one text message is green instead of blue. I also really enjoyed a summer camp where I learned how to program a computer game and program a robot to go through a maze.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…

“A handful of moments I wished I could change, but I was carried away,” are the lyrics that remind a lot about myself. Growing up, and even about two years ago, I was insanely shy and did not talk much around people, friends, or family. The way I talked to people was in a timid, soft spoken way, which looking back, was awfully embarrassing. My friends and family would laugh at me because I could not talk well, and when I did talk, they acted as if I were a baby who just said its first words. With all of that nonsense going on, their idiotic response kind of made me not want to say anything anymore.…
