How To Write A Narrative Essay On Big Day

Improved Essays
Today was the day. I could barely hold in my excitement as I trotted down the hallway to get ready for the big day. Now what exactly am I so excited for? Today was the day my family and I were going back to Denver, Colorado for the first time in eight years. I had waited 4 long months for this day to come, and now it is finally here. I went downstairs to get breakfast, then headed out the door to go to school. I could barely pay attention to anything because of all of my excitement. Once we had gotten something to eat, we went back to the lounge area to wait. Again. We waited, and waited, and waited, until finally there was another “Ding!” We got excited again, thinking that we were actually leaving this time.To our surprise though, the flight was delayed again. We were all extremely disappointed this time because there was no exact time for how long we would have to wait, which meant it could be over an hour. After that announcement was made, we went back to waiting. After 3 hours of waiting, at 3:00 in the morning, there was a final “Ding!”. This time they announced that our flight was boarding. Everybody in the room cheered at the fact that we were finally leaving. As we landed, I admired the fluffy blankets of snow on the ground. It was frigid cold when we stepped out of the plane. We went to baggage claim to get all of our bags, then went near the entrance to wait for my uncle to pick us up. Because it was so early in the morning, we had to wait for about an hour because he was still sleeping. He finally came, and we began the thirty minute drive

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…

I was panicking by now, but we finally got there and saw my brother talking to the flight attendant. The flight attendant had a black eye on his right eye, and he just told us that there was no way that we could get on the plane, even though it hadn’t left yet. We needed to come up with some kind of plan to distract him. He already had a black eye, so I pulled a hat out of my luggage and pulled it over his eyes. I tied a belt around the hat, so he couldn’t get it off easily.…
