Personal Narrative: The Cubs Game

Improved Essays
Well let’s start out, this summer was a good one we all went to a Cubs game ,we swam in pools, we ate out , it was a fun whole summer till the last week of the summer. My mom got a heart virus and had to stay in the hospital for a week ! It was sad but just the other day we were at the Cubs game which I will be writing about , but first i’m going to tell you how she is doing. She is doing better , she has to wear a life vest for 3 months but she is doing better now back to my original story I was going to talk about.

We have gotten tickets to a Cubs game maybe… we were waiting on the other people from Colorado to see if they wanted them but like 3-4 months later they decided they didn’t want them and we got the tickets to go to the Cubs vs Mariners. Were going with one of my dad’s friends, it was a long and very cool ride up to Chicago. I have only been there 2 times including this time. When we went over the Skyway it was so cool to see mostly all of Chicago it was really fun ! Where we parked was like a private area it was awesome.

It was such a cool scene, we went to this food place i forgot the the name but I had a really good burger it was called the Cubby Burger. I think, But I’m not sure. We had a great meal after that the we went into the field it was so AWESOME but it looks a lot smaller than on T.V. my mom said it would be this way. Also it was a night game should have been a day game but it got changed. We had really good seats right below the pavilion on the third base

As we get through OTA's and begin yet another preseason in Tampa Bay, we believe we have the right guys in place on defense. With the acquisitions of Vinny Curry, J.P.P., Mitch Unrein, and Beau Allen added to the defensive line, it adds the depth we have not had in a long time! The line will consist of Gerald McCoy and Vita Vea mainly at the DT position, with Unrein and Allen likely as reserves, but those two, just might end up playing a bigger role than anyone thinks!…

Honestly, I’ll come right out and admit that I have never been the Detroit Lion’s number one fan, or any football fan for that matter. Sure, I had technically gone to each of the homecoming games both years in high school, but only for the sole excuse of being able to put some red war paint on my face and attempt to catch up with some friends. The only exposure I had to the sport was walking through the doors of Phase Three during cross country season. Day after day, I was forced to push through groups of teenage guys reeking with a putrid stench of dried sweat, rotting eggs, and grass stains; the smell in itself was enough to make my eyes water.…

It was a warm spring afternoon on April 26th 2015, around 5 pm. I was 13 at my 3rd all star district championship game, playing one of the best teams in our league. Nestled in the pines, under the hot scorching sun, I was on the dirt stained pitching mound. As I wiped the sweat from my brow I look up as Hunter walks up to the plate. Hunter was a good friend of mine who showed me the curve ball at baseball practice the following season before.…

People coming from a different planet would think every day things we do in life are weird. What we have adapted to and think are normal look very weird to others who haven’t seen people doing things like this. Such as someone who has never shaved before would think that is very odd to shave your beard. Or someone who has never seen a drive threw would think it’s weird to have people have food handed out the window. As we think other cultures are weird we have to look at the fact that our culture is weird to others People that have never seen basketball would thing it is a bunch of people running around with a ball.…

The Last Game “C’mon Blue!” “Get your head in the game!”, a parent hollered from the stands. My mind was muddled from the heat, giving me the cognitive ability of a three year old. It wasn’t the first time I had heard criticism during the game, but I was hoping it would be the last. I vowed to myself that if I managed to make it through the game alive, I would never umpire again.…

When I was about six years old, my friends who were about 12 or 13 at the time invited me to the baseball field. The one bad part was that to get to the baseball field we had to cross a major road to get there, but at least there was a light. My parents told me I could only go if we were being driven, but I went anyway. It was scary crossing the street, mostly because we did not cross at the crosswalk. We were too lazy to walk down the neighborhood and cross at the light.…
