The Black Blizzard

Mom was cooking breakfast, I could just smell the eggs and bacon. so I got out of bed and headed downstairs to eat breakfast. When I got downstairs I went into the kitchen, I told mom hi and then sat down to eat breakfast. A few minutes later Erica came down and sat at the table with us. When I was done I put my plate in the sink and headed outside to the barn. I like to sit with the animals and talk to them. There like my best friends because we live in the country in Texas and there’s not many neighbors living near us. Later that day I peeked out the window and there it was, the Dust Bowl. The Dust Bowl was about to hit us so I yelled “ Mom get Erica the Dust Bowl is come toward us.” When mom and Erica were trying to fill the cracks under the door I remembered that I have to get the animals out of the barn. I went out the door before mom could see me and went to the barn and i got all the animals to follow me to the house. I got them to the house safely, But I didn’t make it in the house.

I ran as fast as I could but it was right behind me. I went as fast as I could but wasn’t fast enough. It was like someone just hit you so hard you went miles and miles away. It was hard to breath because all the dust was in the air. I tried to go back home and get inside safely, there was no way I could go back. I headed to my neighbor's house, the Robinsons. When they heard a knock on the door they opened it and let me in. I couldn’t go back out in the dust bowl so I had to stayed at the Robinsons for a long time until I could go home and see my
