Decent Essays
The best trip I ever took was to Cedar Point. It was July 2, 2017, and we booked two weeks before July 2 the Cedar Point hotel was booked for 2 days it was I, brother, mom, and two cousins. We already packed the day before we got on the road and it was supposed to take 2 hours and 42 minutes to get there. With stops for lunch and bathroom breaks, it took us 3 hours and 20 minutes. We played the license plate spotting game for the first one hour. Then, we started talking about what we were going to do once we get there after that we stopped to eat at a restaurant called Cluvers after we were done eating we made it to Cedar Point.

I just wanted to run out and go on rides, but we had to check in at the hotel discuss our plans. Where to meet

When I was about nine years old, my family was debating about going to Cedar Point the upcoming weekend. I hadn't rode many roller coasters in my life at that time because I was only nine. Of course, trying to be manly, I totally agreed with their decision. My parents told me how big the roller coasters are, and how the roller coasters are some of the biggest in the world. I acted like I wasn't scared, and was talking about how I didn't care about the size of the roller coasters.…

The Philbrook Trip I am not regularly seen at museums and would not say going to them is my favorite thing to do. This fall my art appreciation teacher, Mrs. Trotter, announced that we would be going on a field trip. We were going to the Philbrook Museum of Art. The only reason I was excited was because I had gone before and knew how impressive it was. We went to study the architecture of the house and the many Renaissance paintings that are shown there.…

I lived for a while in the city of Delta Colorado from birth until I was a couple months before moving to Cedaredge, Colorado. I don’t remember much of living in Delta but I do remember living near the hospital, I remember a lot from my experience of living in Cedaredge as I was older and I experience the area. There were a ton of ditches around the house I used to live in Cedaredge as I fell in more than three times, all because the water looked so beautiful with its extreme colors.…

As I looked out of the bus window, half awake from sleeping on the bus ride, I saw a large blue structure with flashing lights at the top jutting into the partly cloudy spring sky. To the right of it was another one, similar looking, but was yellow and red and was somehow even taller than the blue one. I then nervously looked down the aisle out the windshield at the three lane road, each lined with cars and other buses, that was headed toward the island-like peninsula. As we lurched slowly down the road a little bit at the time, a gate appeared with lettering on top that read, “Welcome to Cedar Point.” Just two weeks ago, Mrs. Scharpenberg came into our 2nd period Advanced Placement Language class with a signup sheet, stating that we could go on the annual AP field trip to Cedar Point.…

Bags packed, cars loaded, and over thirty boys wide awake to start a new adventure at Camp Hi-Sierra. Every year, my boy scout troop and I take a week long trip to a traditional summer camp to build upon our outdoor skills: sailing small boats, shooting shotguns, and welding metal tools. This year, I was excited to lead these group of men after I was elected to serve as the Senior Patrol Leader of the troop, a position that requires maturity and experience. A long eight hour drive was upon us.…

When I was about 14 years old, I spent the summer at Camp Lake of the Woods in Decatur, Michigan. From canoeing in the beautiful waters of the three hundred and twenty-acre lake to doing ceramics at the arts and crafts studio, there was never a dull moment at that place. Some of the camp’s amenities include an equestrian center, three baseball diamonds, dance and gymnastics pavilions, and ceramics and arts and crafts studios (Camp Lake of the Woods). Meanwhile, the aquatic options and waterfront boast a three hundred and twenty-acre lake, a heated swimming pool, an aqua volleyball court, a water trampoline, seven ski boats, and numerous boats, boards, canoes and kayaks (Camp Lake of the Woods). I was a swimmer, artist, and a water-skier all…

I’m frozen in awe at the world around me.…

“Is anybody not ready? Hike On.” I exclaimed countless times on my twelve day trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. My much older brother had ventured to Philmont with our dad fifteen years before my trip, so as you can imagine, I grew up hearing stories of the 137,000 acre paradise perched within the Sangre de Cristo mountains in New Mexico. Philmont is a twelve day strenuous backpacking experience and not for the faint of heart.…

I will never forget the time I went on vacation to Florida because of the experience I had with my family on the greatest vacation ever. It all started when this big trip was put together my 7th grade year of school to take a vacation all the way down to Florida. We decided to go to a place some friends recommended to us, this place is called St. Augustine. What really sparked my family’s interest in going was the fact that St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States. So not even a week after the school year ended, my family and I took off on our 1,000 mile trip to Florida.…

Thanks the Texas Exes alumni, I was able to go to Camp Texas for free this year. At first I thought that it was like any normal 3- day camping trip, which made me extremely excited since I enjoy camping very much. Once I got there, I realized that it was a different type of camp. I was nervous and scared because I’m not very good at socializing. The reason I’m writing this is because I learned so much about being open minded, accepting, and kind to other people and new experiences.…
