The Beast
I looks outside scared to know if that horrible beast is still sitting out there, waiting for me to come out of the house. He never knew that his experiment would turn against him. It seems like just yesterday my experiment was doing good.
As the thunder is rolling in the distance I sit there working on the experiment that could change the face of the Earth here in Jackson, Mississippi. I worked on the arms and made them out of solid copper. It had the face of a panther but the body of a grizzly bear. When I started creating this monster I never knew that this could turn out bad but who would ever think that their experiment would turn out bad right. So, I made the legs out of steel too and the body made of stainless. When I programmed

We went all over the city and couldn’t find the beast. We were so scared that the k=beast had gotten out of the city. As we went and got the rat poison and drink for the beast and mixed them together. Soon after we heard the big thumps of the beast and when it saw us it came straight for us. I sat down the drink and ran off to hide. We sat there and patiently waited as the beast drank the poison. We waited for about an hour and as we waited. We heard the beast start to cough and get sick. We were so happy it worked. We then walked out from hiding and the beast was to sick to chase us. We were so happy that it was working…. Or so we thought… when the beast stopped coughing it took it was perfectly fine!! We could not believe this was happening right now. So we didn’t really know what else to do. We couldn’t believe after all this time. There was no reaction. It was as if the poison never touched the beast. So we went a new route and looked around. We schemed the city and found an old building. That was the answer!! We could go and we could make some bombs. That would have to kill the beast. So we ran to the building out of sight of the evil beast. We were very shocked to the beast because the beast had grown much bigger than I had created it to be. It was humongous. It to have been at least 10 feet tall. How was this happening! How was this best growing at this quick of a pace. I know for a fact I didn’t create it like

Chapter 4 of The Storytelling Animal is rather simple to digest. It follows the formula set forth by previous chapter, so the argument follows the same structure. It begins with a narrative to hook the reader, argues both sides of various topics around the subject, and concludes that the subject is a form a storytelling that helps us practice or prepare for real life problems. In chapter 4, the subject in hand is dreams. Interestingly, in this chapter, the primary argument is split into two different places.…

Scientists have argued whether or not dreams have a true purpose when it comes to humans. In chapter four of, “The Storytelling Animal,” Jonathan Gottschall argues that indeed dreams do have a true function. However, he also claims that “a function for dreams or pretend play or fiction doesn’t mean that we’ve identified the function.” (Page 86). I agree with Gottshchall pertaining to his outlook on dreams having a purpose.…

A social class lense, which evaluates the distribution of power through the characters and what happens as a result of this, is highly applicable to this book. In 1984 the Party has complete control over the residents of Oceania and uses heavy monitoring, torture, and brainwashing tactics to remain in control. By closely monitoring all citizens, the Party can ensure that all of their strict rules are being followed and no crimes or conspiring is occurring.…
