However, as I grew up and watched more movies about man-eating sharks and other scary things, I began to feel uneasy about entering the water and stopped wanting to go. Getting hurt at the beach made me listen to my gut feelings more. During the summer of 2012, had been raining nonstop. Once we parked we noticed an ambulance with a man who appeared to be getting care in the back of it. We didn’t think much of it was we set out to conquer the beach. …show more content…

During April of 2015, I stepped out of the car and onto the beach for the first time in Destin, Florida; the salty sea stung my nose as I breathed in a refreshing breath of briny air. The first step onto the sand was like a bed of blankets; soft and comfortable. The way the white sand glided onto my feet and squished between my toes felt like heaven. The waves were singing a delicate lullaby, pulling me closer to them. As I walk towards the ocean with the warm sand beneath my feet, the cold waves lap at my ankles, as if they want to take me away.…

When I was eleven my family took a trip to the Bahamas. We departed DFW airport early in the morning, before even the birds had woken from their slumber. Our plane landed briefly at a small airport in southern Florida where we swiftly exited our large vessel for the cramped, musty quarters of a seemingly ancient aircraft. My family and I sat in the plane for what felt like an eternity with nothing but miles of water as far as the eye could see. As the tiny metal bird descended from the skies a beautiful island emerged from the thick clouds.…

The aroma of the ocean, as well as fried food and sunblock encapsulated my sense of smell as I passed by the House of Blues on my left, and the beach across the street and past the parking lot on my right. This was my all time favorite place to be. York Beach, Maine. I was visiting for a week in the summer with my friend and her family as our last summer hoorah before having to go back to school. We spent our days on the beach, gallivanting around downtown, buying tickets at Yorks Wild Kingdom to ride the ferris wheel, and ending our day by going to Fun-O-Rama to play arcade games.…
