Personal Narrative-The Basics Of Cells

That's the exact moment the whole world stopped. 11:38 am on the dot. I know because I was there and I'm still here. Everything except me is stuck because at 11:38 am the world decided to quit moving, possibly forever. I was in class when it happened, my science teacher was restlessly droning on and on about the parts of the cell. I, of course, decided my time would be more well spent doodling pointless little drawings in my binder. “The mitochondria as we all know is the powerhouse of the cell” I drew a brick house with a light bulb sticking out of the side stamped mitochondria. “The nucleus is like the cell’s brain, it helps control the cell’s movement, eating, and reproduction” an anthropomorphic brain donning nerd glasses was pleased to bark commands near the mitochondria house. It went on like that for a while until I noticed the classroom was unusually quiet. The teacher had stopped her riveting spiel about the various cell parts and as a result I had run out of doodle inspiration. I glanced up at her and that's when I noticed. She was standing with one hand on her hip the other grasping a pencil pointing to a chart titled “The Basics of Cells”, her mouth was open like she was making to speak but no sound came out. She was frozen in that stance, like a statue eternally carved in one position. I looked around the classroom and saw …show more content…
Something was missing. I like every human being on the planet, normally sit in the same spot everyday. I usually chose the seat closest to the window so I can look outside when I'm feeling extremely bored. My desk is always next to the window. It was nowhere in sight which confused me because I sit beside it every single day. How had the entire window disappeared without me noticing? I left the classroom to peruse the rest of the

Life is simply perspective. Some say that you have your whole life to do something, while others will argue that life is short and you should enjoy it to the full extent of it’s worth. You can look at something as exquisite, or atrocious. It doesn’t change what it is, but it changes your reaction to it. No matter how sure you are about the morality, someone else could view it differently.…

Gene, Thank you so much for your thoughtful responce to the story that I shared. In terms of my personal views towards spanking, after being exposed to so many different views I have decided that, one day when I have kids I won't be spanking my children at all. When I grew up I was spanked by my parents and I don't think that it had a negative effect on me or my views of my parents, but I do think it could be easy for it to be taken to far. As far as how I think that my view on this has effected my perception of God, it has not had a huge role, but looking forward to the kind of parent I want to be it plays a big role.…

It was like any other school day, coming back from lunch, sitting in class, and talking to friends; however, it all changed once I arrived in my American Studies class. Mrs. Forbs was standing in front of the class waiting for everyone to quiet down. The class was a bunch of sixth graders, so it took a while to make us be silent. The day felt weird for me, I had my same robotic schedule but for some reason something didn’t feel right. I thought it had something to do with the food I ate for lunch, I would be prepared to head down to the bathroom or even nurse if that was the case; however, what happened that day no sixth grader would be able to prepare for.…

It was three long day's before the case really started to pick up speed, to only have the brakes put on it as the judge post-pones the case for the prosecutors to come up with more evidence. At this point I've only slightly gotten over my parents death, its sad too know they're gone, but I knew they were gonna soon, one way or another.…

It was the last period of the day so the heat on the blacktop was starting to chill its fiery claws into a mellow and pleasant warmth. We had been allowed a single square of carpet for us to protect our bottoms from the grey, eroded pebbles that littered the dry, old and worn out blacktop. I am sitting far away from anyone else in the class. They are all trying to get close enough to their friends so they can whisper and try to talk. They don’t understand why I sat so far away, it was so that I could observe and see if what they were doing was worth describing.…
