Personal Narrative: The Back To School Bash

The Back to School Bash occurred at the EMCID building. Prior to the event, I was able to choose my duties at the Back to School Bash online. The duties consisted of serving children powdered candy in little containers. Upon arriving to the event at the EMCID building, I had to check in at the front desk in order for them to give me a badge. Once I was checked in, the lady at the front desk was able to instruct me about my duties. She explained that if children and parents wanted to get powdered candy from the candy dispenser, they had to form a line in order to wait their turn. I was told to only let at least 5 people in at a time to get candy and to change the machine dispenser if it ran out of candy. She also mentioned that if people wanted to get more candy, they had to form a line once again. …show more content…
I met several other volunteers that were volunteering as well. We all made a plan that made one person was in charge of letting people in to get candy, 2 people were in charge of helping others to get candy, and I provided the containers that the powdered candy went in. When the people arrived it was chaos at first since some people were skipping other individuals. My group talked it over and decided to enforce the limit of people who were able to get powdered
