With the migration to the new world and revealing my true outgoing, friendly, brainy, and humorous personality to the hectic world we humans call home, I realized the world is a cruel place. My right to be informed about valuable information regarding my future had be striped from my young, innocent hands, I had to move to a “foreign ” land (Phoenix) and I had be forced to unravel my shield and reveal my vulnerability to people I did not know. It was unfair.
While any other child in my predicament would have thrown a tantrum, I accepted my situation and learned to cope with my misfortunes. I learned that my upcoming had formed my motivation to become someone greater than everyone decides for me to be. I am contend with the way I grew up and I used my story to keep me on track, so I can look back at my life and be happy with all that I have

It felt sort of like in the book when Jeannette says, “We moved around like nomads” (Walls 19). I was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, and my family moved to Zanesville, Ohio when I was about nine months old. That move was hardly a tragic experience for me seeing as I don’t remember it, so I don’t think it really counts. I lived in Zanesville until I was almost nine years old. This too shall pass. I’ve been hurt many times, and so have you. As growing adolescents we played freely throughout the simplicity of our lives, skinning knees and bruising elbows, only for our wounds to heal. As our metaphoric birthday cakes gained candles, we learned that friendships have an expiration date, and so did our extended family member’s lives. Through it all we healed, or coped, and the sadness passed.…
