The Eiffel Tower is in flames as well as our souls. There is nothing left but the ashes of my faith in hope. But my twin siblings, Bella and Nick, are the only one that keeps the embers of my faith glowing. We have been alone looking for that beacon of confirmation, the survivor camps, for awhile now. Almost two years, tomorrow is the anniversary of when “The awakening” happened. We are all alone like I mentioned earlier, Bella doesn't like to talk about it, she is still in the denial stage, always telling me we will see them again, but i saw it happen and I know that we will not. I was dreaming good. I was with her, that is why it was good. Suddenly, I was awoken due to being violently shaken by my mother while she was yelling at me to get up and get dressed. No idea of what was happening, I threw on sweatpants, a t shirt, jacket, and my nikes. I walked out into the living hell that was my living room. My mother was crying, I looked at our burning home and spotted the source of the inferno, “the chosen.” “Those sorry little….” I began to say, my mother cut me off. “The chosen have finally caught up to our town, it's time to move. Let's go kids, leave …show more content…

I was more annoyed than scared, “why can't peaceful nights just stay peaceful for once?”, I thought to myself. I grabbed my gun and moved towards the bush. I poked and shook the shrub but nothing happened when I did so, deciding to look around the bush to see what was there was probably a mistake, but a good mistake. I saw a man, shivering, and alone. I grabbed a blanket from our little pallet and threw it on him, I would wake him in the morning, he could be a necessity. I sat back down again, to think, what could I do, what could I do to change the
