Personal Narrative: The Addams In Life

The most significant challenge I faced would actually be quit recently in life. It actually happened the first week of school on the second day. It all began when my theatre teachers set the date for the upcoming Musical The Addams Family. This meant I would have to do something out of my comfort zone sing and dance. I knew this was going to be a challenge but I was willing to do it. As a little girl I loved to dance, there wasn't a party I didn't dance at I considered myself to be pretty good at dancing. Then as I grew up and I realised that I wasn't as good anymore I slowly felt like I had forgotten to Dance. So when family parties came around I would never dance even if I really wanted too, I didn't want to look dumb trying to dance. I didn't want to be that person who obviously didn't know how to dance but still tried. So I eventuallly gave up on dancing all together, as for singing I always sang, was I ever good not necessarily. Although I wasn't a lead I was proud and happy that I even got a role. I will be portraying one of the family's anncestors (The Bride). My dancing still isn't the best I struggle from time to time to pick up some of the choreography, but I always give it my best. Slowely but surely I am getting there the more i practice the choreography the sharper it becomes. Deep down I knew I was capable of dancing and singing I just never gave myself any credit. I wouldnt't consider myself a perfect dancer or even the best all I know is I'm way more confident in my dancing/singing skills then when I started. By the time we perform I officially can say I am capable of singing and

I would think that I was to cool to dance and when I danced it would be really awkwardly. Also every Sunday when I was suppose to practice I didn’t want to go I just wanted to hang out with my friends. This stage of me thinking I was to cool lasted about till 7th grade. During my 8th grade year I broke out of my shell and I started enjoying it again and I know longer cared what people thought of me because this was for the kids. I’m currently still like that, and I attend my practices every Sunday with a positive attitude and a smile on my…

Being able to choreograph and perform in dance concert is a very unique and amazing experience. Creating ideas with everyone around you and transforming those ideas into a masterpiece is a process like no other. With everyone’s opinions out in thin air, you can put all of your ideas into one to create something so beautiful.
