Personal Narrative: Thanksgiving Holiday

Decent Essays
On Monday, November 28, 2016, my family and I had dinner your restaurant to celebrate Thanksgiving Holiday. As a loyal customer who have been eating in your restaurant for two years, I was not happy at my recent dining experience at Homey Buffet during that time. Because of this, I would like Homey Buffet to grant my $360 refund request.

I made a reservation a month ago for 15 people (9 adults, 6 kids) on the phone and speak to the hostess, Alyssa, who told me that my reservation has been scheduled smoothly. However by the time we arrived, we were told by same hostess that our reservation was lost and to wait 45 minutes in cold temperature outside. Second, there were no handicap seating for my great grandpa even though I made a special request

For this assignment, I went to McAlister 's Deli on Thursday, November 17, 2016. I had been to a few McAlister 's before, but I had never dined at the Cape Girardeau location. McAlister 's Deli is a casual restaurant chain. McAlister 's is known for their sandwiches, spuds, salads, soups, and of course their famous sweet tea. One of McAlister 's goals is to provide genuine hospitality to their guests.…

We had just come from my granddaughter’s basketball game and we had decided to go to the Bob Evans in Marysville. That particular Bob Evans does not have a good reputation with me but since my dear grandchildren wanted to eat there I simply replied, “Why not.”. When we got inside a very cheery room greeted us. There was a beautiful chandelier covering twenty or so tables with green tablecloths and the usual condiments. “It looks good enough.”…

After 9 years of seeing no family such as: my aunts, uncles, and cousins made it harder everyday. My parents decided that it was a good idea to go to Istanbul and see our family there. I can’t describe how excited I was. Going to see them was the best gift ever.…

Last November, a week before Thanksgiving, I was listening to the morning radio talk show The Woody Show and the hosts were talking about how excited they were for the Thanksgiving feast. They all went around and shared what was their perfect meal for that day. It ranged from fried turkey, to stuffing, cornbread, green bean casserole, and towards the end the hosts argued about cranberry sauce. However, they all agreed that pumpkin pie was essential to the perfect meal. I found it very interesting that while they argued about the way the meal was executed, they all agreed on the basic components to the meal-I didn’t.…

Thanksgiving dinner in my family is a big deal all our family and friends gather around to celebrate. There is always plenty of food, drinks, music and laughter. My family is loud, crazy and not afraid to voice their opinions so there is always drama at every dinner or family event. I chose to write on this because I never payed attention to detail or interactions at these dinners like why the women cook? Or why it is important that we are all together.…

As November officially marks the beginning of the holiday season, we are also reminded that Winter will soon be here and to prepare for colder and hopefully wetter weather. The anticipation for Thanksgiving break is over the top. The thought of home cooked meals, family, and no professors talking a student 's ear off for a week are heavenly. Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) Although psychology is used every minute of every day i 'm only going to talk about 5 concepts, persuasion, cognition, emotion, personality, and the self.…

John, Nolan, Tabby, Josh, Joey, Alvin, and I all decided we wanted to go walk through the woods while the sun was setting at my grandparents house. We were there for Chrisgiving, which is a family tradition, and we wanted to do something fun! We started walking through the woods until we found the old abandoned barn and house about a mile or so from our grandparents house. We then decided it was good idea to go inside and rummage through it which ended up being the worst idea ever, for me anyway. John, Tabby, and I went to the top of the barn and were walking very slowly since many of the boards were missing.…

We need to have some history of Thanksgiving in order to understand why thanksgiving is the way it is and why my family is not fond of the holiday. The Pilgrims, who had buckles on their hats and pants around their ankles, started this holiday we call Thanksgiving. They started it to have something to do on the last Thursday in November since football had not been invented during that time frame. At first, it was just a small gathering of Pilgrims and Indians and the sharing of a small meal around their rickety table. It proceeded to grow until the Pilgrims started shooting Indians.…
