Personal Narrative: Teamwork Doesn T Work

Decent Essays
I am John I play defense for the St. Paul Knights on the peewee double “A” team. I play defense with his younger brother who I doesn't get along with well, but we don't blame each other for anything, because they know teamwork doesn't work when you put blame on other teammates. We were up three to one against the East Grand Forks Badgers going into the second period, but we didn't play well at all that period so we let in four goals. After the the second period when they were resurfacing the ice we went into the locker to get a break. Once we got into the locker room the first thing I heard was our goal scorer Jacob who mostly stands at the blue line waiting for a puck say it was all the defensemans fault ; I looked at my brother and he just

The Bruins won the opening faceoff and started with a couple good shots on goal. The Blues gained possession of the and passed the puck around in our defensive zone. The puck was passed behind the net to Frank St. Marseille who was slammed into the boards right in front of me. I repeatedly banged my hands on the boards well screaming at the top of my lungs. The B’s took the puck and moved it up the ice where they turned the puck over.…

My team then decided to pass it back to our goalie. We do not know if it had to do with the fact that he had not eaten any food in the past 12 days but as the ball came back to Jason he completely missed it and it went in. The score was already 2-0 in this awful hockey game. The huge crowd of 412 males, 278 females, and 86 children all crowded onto the street and started yelling and throwing food, Jason started eating it off of the floor like a deranged mother hamster eating her offspring. Once Jason regained himself, David took the ball out of our net and tried to score a full rink-length shot on the other goalie.…

My domination of easily breezing by my neighbors in street hockey and always ranked at the top of stat sheets for scoring in recreational hockey, abruptly ended when I joined my first competitive travel hockey team. My first game exemplified the setbacks my fear imposed on my team when I frighteningly moved out of the way of an enormous player to grant him a free pass to the net in which he scored the game winning goal. Shamefully looking at me as if I were an ally of the other team, I became alienated after my team after they began the tradition of…

We stumbled one by one onto the ice. the cold air immediately stung my cheeks and numbed my toes. The other players were warming up; effortlessly weaving through cones and performing crossovers with such ease that it looked as if they were dancing the waltz in a ballroom, swiftly gliding back and forth, making sharp and precise turns, before lining up to practice shooting. A wrist shot, a snapshot, a slapshot a -the nets not over there -shot. In the locker room, everyone boasted to each other; “five goals seven assists.”…

It was October 16, 2012. I was in seventh grade, just a boy to become someone or something. We were loading the bus with our two coaches, Coach Voss and Coach Larh. Coach Voss the offensive coach who liked to make us run, and coach larh, our Defensive coach who taught me everything I known about the defensive side of the ball. This was a big game for me and my fellow teammates this game was going to set the tone for the rest of the season to show that we can be successful.…

As soon as the referee blew the whistle, both teams were on the move. I didn’t know much about the other team and so I was expecting the usual close game, but after a few minutes the Polars had managed to score a goal. Everyone on our side of the bleachers shouted and clapped along with the other players on the bench. The visiting team had no clear leader no one shouting to the other players or calling for the ball, unlike our team captain who was already sweating with a serious look on his face .…

No Shared Goals First of all, in the round 1, we didn’t have a shared goal of what was our ultimate operational objective. I was in charge of the quality control, however, my operational objective was merely to finish my tasks: subjectively check the quality, record the number of deficits and time, leave some comments, and pass houses to the material handler. After the round 1, I realized that the quality ratio was one of the important metrics and I was responsible for the metrics. During the round 1, my manager ordered me to pass all houses to the material handler even if some of them had obvious deficits. If I knew the quality ratio was one of the important shared goals, I wouldn’t have passed deficit houses to the material handler.…

Stadium packed game, filled with energy, all coming down to the final seconds. All we worked for was to live for this. Jogging back down to the other end of the court I remember seeing all the fans in bright red erupt out of their seats as my team scored the ball to put us up by one point. All I could hear was a loud ringing noise and I knew it was because of the moment and how big it was for us, I couldn't take it all in at once.…

The moment all the tyros were broken up and my team was the only one without a corporate advisor, the grumbling started. I knew there would be some trouble when you consider that this was their chance to grab one of those open positions and the other teams would have a clear advantage over us. After everything I had gone through just too graduate, deal with my father’s accident, the double your pleasure skank twins living at my house with their mother, and the team member from hell who had spoken rudely to Mr. Trystan, I would be damn if I was going to put up with any crap. “If anyone feels that they are not up to the challenge, I wish you luck on your next attempt to gain employment here.
