Personal Narrative: Teaching Myself To Play The Piano

One accomplishment I am most proud of is teaching myself to play the piano. Music has always been one of my favorite things in life. When I was younger, I would try to come up with song lyrics and was also interested in learning guitar. My dad played when he was younger but never played much after he had kids. I was fortunate enough one day to get a piano from a close family friend. Piano was not my first choice in instrument but I ended up loving it. I didn't want to ask to get lessons or a piano teacher so I bought a book, looked up the basics online, and started playing. It was a frustrating and rocky start, but I refused to give up.
