Skipping through kid shows on Disney Channel and Nickelodeon at age 5 every morning was a habit for me to watch Stuart Scott portray his passion for broadcasting sports adequately on ESPN's SportsCenter, inspired me to be just like him by pursuing the sports broadcasting field. I wasn't your typical five year old child who was in love with Barney and Dora but one who was in love with one thing, sports. My interest for sports broadcasting came at age 4 when I discovered the sport of football. My dad would explain to me the complexities of the sport and I instantly fell in love. I began to play flag football when I was 5 years old as a wide receiver. As I was falling in love with football, I began watching sports channels daily instead of typical five year old shows. …show more content…
Stuart Scott is an inspiration to me because of his work ethic, ability in front of the camera, his flow of words, and most of all his famous catchphrase, "BOO-YAH." Once my dad would get home, I'd tell him all the latest sports news in every sport. As I became older, my passion for sports grew as I discovered more sports like basketball, track, and a little baseball. When I was around 10 years old, I met Kevin Ray, a radio broadcaster for the Dallas Cowboys and play-by-play announcer for the Phoenix Suns.
