Strengthen Imperfections
Perfection, it is a goal that everyone strives for in some way, whether it be a perfect paper, perfect hair, or a picture perfect life. To achieve even a modicum of perfection you must improve. Improvement is a constant job. There is always something that can be improved. Benjamin Franklin said “Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” The three biggest areas that I need improvement in are public speaking, comma splices, and transitions. I found some resources that help me to improve in these areas. I have always been very soft-spoken, shy, and naturally introverted. Unfortunately when those personality traits combine it does not make a great social speaker. In school years past whenever I had to present a project, or read aloud I would stutter, move around, perform nervous ticks, and my voice would become shaky. My teachers almost constantly asked me to “speak up” or they would say “I can’t hear you”. Overall having to talk in public was nothing short of a natural disaster for me. I was embarrassed and scared to talk. Thankfully I was able to find a You Tube video that successfully helped me to overcome that social anxiety. The video is called How to Rock the Stage-Public Speaking and Presentation Skills that you can Master. Dr. Michelle Dickinson and Dr. James Whittaker are the two speakers in this video. Dr. Whittaker is a distinguished engineer for Microsoft, he is well known for his unique speeches, and Dr. Dickinson is the Prime Minister Science Communications Prize Winner. They suggest ways to captivate the audience and how to be more comfortable when presenting something to a group of people. Both of these people are well-known speakers, and Dr. Michelle Dickinson even admits in the video that she still gets …show more content…
Stephanie and Isabel considered and included their thoughts concerning the ethical ramifications of graduating from a college. They insist that society benefits from those that decide to attend college.”

They declare that financial stability is important, but not all jobs, even those required to have a college degree is a guarantee, it depends upon each situation. Although many people would agree that success and money go hand-in-hand, there are other factors to consider as well if one wishes to be truly successful.
