Ring! I hear my phone go off and buzz on the hardwood table that i'm sitting at. I look over from my computer to see a text message from Jackson. “Hey kendall, so i've been thinking, and i-.” That's all that i can see from the lock screen.

On iPhones, why do you seriously have it where you can see only half of the text message on the screen, but if it was a notification that was ten pages long you'd show all of it.

I punched in 43385 and seen at what he had said. “Hey Kendall i've been thinking, and i really want to meet you. So are you down for it?” Oh my goodness really! “Most definitely I do” I honestly can't stop smiling. “Sweet what about this tomorrow? I mean it is summer so i'm free.” “yeah let's do it!” I laid down in bed and tried

High waisted jean shorts and a tank top never goes wrong.” Well on the tank top it says ‘My mind says gym but my heart says tacos’ which is honestly me. After i put on the outfit i spun off to my bathroom to get ready.

“Hmm, curly or straight? Curly… or straight? Hmm i'll just go with curly.” i plugged in the curler and put on some tunes but loud enough to where i could still hear the doorbell ring.

As i was almost done with the last touches of my makeup i hear the faint sound of the doorbell going off. I jumped in excitement which in result got mascara on my nose! I rushed trying to get the black stain off the end of my nose as my mother called out my name letting me know that he is here. I ran out of my bathroom and tripped over thin air

. “I so hope he didn't just hear that. I swear i'm the only person in the world that could be this clumsy.” i put on my necklace and proceeded to walk down stairs. I glided across the floor, i could start to see jackson; every step i took the more that i could see of him. I got even more excited if i was a little girl again in a candy shop full of little puppies. Something my mother had said made him laugh, his deep warming laugh that i swear could brighten even the rainiest of days. While he was laughing, he glanced over at me and making eye

We both ended up laughing.

“Who knows.” i shrugged and giggled

I sighed and continued my sentence “So do you wanna watch a movie?”

“Sure thing if you make some popcorn” he smirked after saying this and plopped down onto the coach

Every time a joke was made he would bust out into a bellow and i would giggle, his laugh is so contagious. Throughout the movie he would nudge me with his hand while i tried to stop his hand but at one moment his hand ended up on top of mine and it didn't move. I gotta feeling every time that his hand made contact with mine, but i don't know what to call it.It's like in those stupid cheesy romantic movies, you know? Like when the two people like each other and are perfect for eachothers hands finally end up intertwined

"Go time," I asserted and Angie and I got out of the van and strolled up the pathway to the house. I remember how his front yard was a jungle of overgrown grass and thorny weeds. We both had red toolboxes; inside of them were our favorite weapons, their ammunition, and other supplies for the mission. “Let’s try ringing the doorbell,” I suggested after I had tested the door and finding it locked. “Sure, I’ll do it,” Angie volunteered.…

Get the Look: Slicked Back Hairstyle Did you know that one of the quickest (and effortless) ways to dramatically change your look is to change the way you part your hair? Even though I understand this simple rule, most of the times I simply part my hair to the side. When I saw Vivienne Tam’s NYFW show where models were wearing their hair pulled away from the face, I thought it could be a fun hairstyle to repeat. Luckily, I connected to Red Door Spa and learned some tricks on how to replicate this awesome ‘cool school-girl’ look created by Leon Gorman, the lead hairstylist for the show.…

To the ones who believe asking, “What are you?” is a valid conversation starter, I am multiracial and proud, but to simplify my ethnicities to others when asked, I identify myself as Asian. I was stereotyped because of how we are perceived in media and society. I spent years cowering in my own skin because others made me believe I was not Asian because of the size of my eyes, the color of my hair, and my personal interests. I was ashamed of what I looked like since I was convinced it embodied who I am as a person.…

Whenever I tell someone where I live, they automatically believe that I am in a gang even if I am only 5 feet tall. Living in Barrio Logan I have faced so many typical stereotypes about my neighborhood, but I don’t see it that way. Barrio Logan is not just a neighborhood, it's a supporting community. Everyone goes out of their way to make everyone seem like family. It has always been a diverse neighborhood with different ethnicities and religions that it has helped me learn to be accepting and open minded.…

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, we're all accustomed to a certain standard, or stereotype that needs to be played. Whether it's being captain of the cheerleading team or the smartest kid in your class, it's one way or another that's there's going to be someone who's supposed to follow by these stereotypes or standards just for the sole fact that that's them. Unfortunately for me, it couldn't get any worse, since being an African American female who unfortunately does not fit your typical, "angry black woman."
