Personal Narrative: Statue Of Liberty

I woke up in my bed cold and wondering what time it is in Dzerzhinsky. I get up out of my hard bed aching. And then I realize that today is the day that I meet up with my best friend that I meet in school, Kseniya. I put on my best clothing and get my old raggedy bag and put a few things in it like some of food, some extra clothing, and some money. For a few minutes I walked around saying goodbye to everything knowing I would never come back and remembering all the memories I had around here. While I tried to get the one bad memory out of my head of when I saw my dad and mom run away when they thought that I was asleep but I wasn't and I cried that whole night and day. But now it’s over and I am now going to meet my best friend and go to America. …show more content…
I look over to Kseniya and could see the gratefulness in her eyes. I took a minute to look around and see all that what I wanted to see. And at that same time I saw it was the Ellis Island building and right next to it I saw it, it was the Statue Of Liberty. I gasped of greatness knowing that I am now in a free country. but first I knew that I had to get through the security. But I was so happy that, that thought slipped my mind. so I looked over to Kseniya again and said "are you ready for everything that is in front of us." and then she said "Yes, lets go." Then we both started to run towards the building. We both mad it to the building at the same time, but there were two guards standing at the door. They looked at us and then they whispered something to each other and then opened the doors to let us in. After that happened Kseniya said to me “Did you know what that was all about.” and then I said “no i didn't, lets just be glad that we got in.” and at that same time we saw so many people walking around to the security line. So Kseniya and I followed them and waited and waited for about three hours. We were so exhausted, but we where finally about the second people till we got looked at by the security
