The following summer was good too Jim and I were heading into 2nd grade when my mom got the news. The news was probably one of the worsts things you could ever hear. The cancer was back and even stronger this time. The doctors gave her 2-3 years to live if she did not get it treated. The cancer came back in her pelvis, lungs, and hip.My mom ended up needing a full hip replacement. Then she underwent chemotherapy for the second time. The cancer was stable for the next year. The cancer started to grow again as if it was a boy in his grow spurt,so she did a clinic trial in Detroit. She was eventually kicked off the trial because the cancer continued to grow. My mom left her job on disabilities to spend more time with our family. She started a new chemotherapy. My grandma also started to live with us to help around the house and babysit Jim and I . My grandma always picked me and Jim up from schools and brought us to our sporting events. Jim and I were still clueless about what was going on. My mom started to go to treatment every week thanks to health insurance we could pay for it. My mom continues to go to treatment every week and take test drugs to possibly find the cure. After hearing all of this information about her involvement with this disease, I wanted to know what her day-to-day experience with breast cancer was like. She said, “Sure cancer sucks and its hell, but I found it earlier enough that I have chance to fight back and win, and it always helps having a support system like I do.” This shows that even in the most technological advanced country on Earth and a loving and caring family this disease is wearing and depressing due to what it does to you mentally and physically. Breast cancer is extremely deadly and always will be till there is a cure for all stages and types of breast cancer.…
