Personal Narrative: St. Francis Of Assisi

1. I have attended a catholic school for all my education. I went to St. Philomena School from pre-k up to eighth grade. I’ve never taken a CCD class.

2. I grew up in a Catholic family so I have always believed in God.

3. I am Catholic.

4. I believe in most of the Catholic teachings, but one thing I really believe in is equal rights and love for all people, no matter their race, gender, sexuality, etc.

5. I do pray, but I feel like I should pray more. I pray before I eat a meal, at school, and during mass.

6. “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” I found this verse from Romans 12:12 for this assignment, but I really like it. It is a very simple way of saying have hope, patience and faith in God. It’s easy to understand and very important to live out.

My favorite saint is probably St. Francis of Assisi. St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and ecology. He was very passionate about nature, which is something I share with him.

8. I do enjoy studying theology, but I feel like some of the past classes I have had were very repetitive in the information that was taught.

9. I attend mass every Sunday (mostly) with my family because I think it’s a good time to pray and focus on God.

10. I would be really interested in learning more about the Saints. They have always been mentioned in my previous classes but have never been a main
