It was a cool summer's evening in the small town of HanksVille, Alabama. Ma and Pa were sitting on the front porch listening to the crickets chirp. I was in the kitchen making a sandwich, while my little sister Amanda was sitting on the couch watching this show she seems to really like called "Full Metal Alchemist." I guess it was a sad show because she got all teary eyed when a guy named Maes Hughes died and I showed his coffin." When I asked her why she was crying when it wasn’t real, she said "watch the whole series and you'll see why." I did but it got to complicated for me so I stopped watching it. When I was almost finished with making my sandwich I heard a big boom.

"Oh no Pas' at it again." I said with a sigh.

"Mark put this inside the house and keep it there."

She handed me the gun and I set it on the other side of the door.

"Actually sir I'm not from the government I live down the road."

Ma stood up and walked to the railing.

"Oh you must be the one who bought the Carter's old place."

"Yes ma'am I am."

"Well its nice to meet yah. I'm sorry I didn’t catch your name."

"My name is Jeffery Adams."

"Well Mr. Adams it's nice to meet you."

"Likewise ma'am."

"So what brings you to our little home Mr. Adams?"

"While I was looking over the house I noticed some repairs that could be needed and I was wondering if you knew someone who could help me fix them."

"Mark you're a carpenter can you help this nice young

She threw a terrified glance over her shoulder and raced toward her convertible standing beside the curb. She leaped into it, slammed the door, and I heard the car start and then it started to move away But thanks to my speed I got to its side. In almost the same movement, I reached down and yanked the emergency brake.…

There isn’t anything more breathtaking than going Up North. If you’re not from Michigan you might be wondering, “Where up north?” In Michigan we use “up north” as a term for the upper half of the mitten, I’d say from the top of the thumb up. Mrs. Fiske, my English teacher junior and senior year of high school always told me that I was one of the best writers in my class but I could always be better. Spelling has always been one of my strong suits and I always get bothered when people can’t spell simple words. I’m pretty good at writing essays but I do not enjoy writing them at all.…
