Something I’m Good At Band

This is about how much I love band so far.

Band is a really fun competitive subject. We go to competitions in towns near Pearsall, Texas and you make new friends. When we barely started band all we really did was write what we will not do in band and the name of the instrument were play in that case I play the tuba. We wrote the name of the clef of that instrument, the clef is the the little sign on the key signature it is usually the first thing they will show you before you play. When you get in 7th grade you will get ready for the peperally you learn these songs here I’ll list them Star Spangled Banner, On Wisconsin, Mony Mony, We Got The Beat, Proud Mary, Low Rider

The vast spectrum of knowledge, skills obtained, and experiences from a college degree more than compensates for the monetary cost of tuition. Creating art is my passion; I have always wanted to become a great artist ever since I was a child drawing on my walls and copying pictures from books. I have devoted my life to improving my talents by illustrating my own stories, practicing drawing daily, and challenging myself to earning my own money doing what I love by drawing commissions. Learning how to communicate through illustration is a valuable skill that will live with me for the rest of my life and progressing my artist career.…

When I was a freshman, I joined marching band. Marching band taught me some very helpful characteristics that I started applying to my life. It taught me responsibility, people were relying on me more than I’d ever experienced. It taught me commitment, I had a job to do and I had to be committed to doing that job to the best of my ability or I’d be letting down myself and those around me. Most importantly, I learned confidence; I had always been shy and introverted until I was able to break out of my shell through marching…

"Good better best, never let it rest, 'till your good is better and your better is best." These simple words were spoken to me by my high school band director Cheldon Williams on the first day of my high school experience. This, followed by my experience of marching band and my eventual learning of piano sparked a period of introspective thought, and mental growth, that transcended to where I am today. Never in my life did I think my hard work and dedication inspired by Mr. Williams words would land me at Interlochen Center for the Performing Arts Boarding School. These words became a core part of what I am, and from freshman year on would encourage me to never set a limit on my potential, and my overall worth.…

About five years ago I was introduced into the world of music. At the age of 11, I had never touched a single instrument much less made a decent noise on one. My grandmother owned a Casio keyboard that was older than I was that just sat in the spare bedroom unused.
