Personal Narrative: Snowball's Hound Dog

Improved Essays
In 2012 my dad found a girlfriend named Stephanie. Stephanie always smelled nice and had soft hair and bought me toys, perhaps that's why i liked her, but she was like a second mom to me. She also had a Chihuahua that always smelled like baby powder, whose name I can't remember and a pug named Snowball. We then decided to get a few hound dogs because cats kept getting into our garbage at night. Again, a few months later one of the hound dogs had puppies! Every two days I would trek out into the back yard, bathe the dogs, clean out their messy kennels, and feed them. It was really fun unless there and when we sold some of the pups we made a lot of money so we bought more animals that were

My dad moved back in with his parents, their house was beautiful though so it didn't bother us much, with the inground pool and the amazing pillars outside, we were living the dream, but he kept his dog Mckinzey Lou, he has had her for 16 years now and she's getting really old. After Stephanie and my dad broke up i had an ache in my heart, because i had grown fond of her and all the dogs, but Mckinzey Lou is a great dog, she follows you without a leash and she does all sorts of tricks, one time my cousin told the dog “Go get me dinner Kinzey, i'm hungry.” as a joke of course, but a few minutes later Kinzey brought 3 rabbits to my cousins feet. Sadly, they were dead, but she was just doing what she was told. And that's how I ended up with 37 dogs, while living in

Discussion Reply to Our Scars Written by Rianna Crocker Most of my scars have been obtained through playing childhood games, sports, or unexpected awful encounters with vicious animals. How awful it must have been to have a scar on your face, a place that is inescapable from daily view, that reminds you of the death of your beloved friend and the grieving process that resulted in that scar. I too know what it is to lose such a precious friend at such a young age and the pain that grew inside. I must have been the tender age of four when the family cocker spaniel had a litter of puppies; two to be exact.…

I was beyond ecstatic and couldn’t believe we found him. Shortly after that incident, I was going through my closet and towards the very top, discovered an identical Woofie stuffed dog. I was appalled at what I found and without hesitation, brought it in the living room and asked my parents why there is a twin Woofie. This is when I first realized the immense love my parents had for me, and knew if anything happened to my toy, they would quickly have to fix the situation. To this day, Woofie sits upon a lamp in my bedroom reminding me of the large part he used to play in…

I believe that dogs deserve roses. I grew up in a sanctuary home; a place for animals otherwise put to death would come live with us be retrained and given away. We had many animals; 12 white pet rats, 18 dogs, nearly 25 cats (though they had so many kittens that we would sometimes have all the way up 40 cats!) and about 18-20 fish. It was a jungle.…

I grew up in a small town of about 1700 people in the north-eastern United States. There was my mother and father, my two younger twin sisters, and me, the older brother. My parents made a living by running a small shop where my father would sell the antlers and skin of the animals he would hunt and my mother would sell art supplies. We were able to survive like this for many years. Just the five of us, maybe a stray dog one of my sisters had found and insisted we keep because “He’s just so cute!” or “We’ll promise to take care of him”.…
