Personal Narrative-Snapping Turtle

I can successfully say that I have seen the world's fastest snapping turtle. I snapped my head back to see how much distance there was between us. There was only a foot left to where the dock would come to an end. My heart was racing. Thump! My breaths were quick and short. Thump! As my feet landed on the ground there was a slight trip in my step, but I slowly steadied myself. When I glanced back the turtle seemed to have disappeared and ran the other way. “Hey Katherine do you want to try and catch crawdads?” my cousin, Tanner, questioned. “Sure!” I excitedly answered back. The sun had just set over the lake, and the breeze began to pick up. All the stars were out, and you could see the gleam of the galaxy beyond the trees. Tonight was …show more content…
He too thought it was super amusing to watch them fight. At that instant my cousin was just about to plunge his hand into the still water, and capture those crawdads. Suddenly a dark shadow came lurking in from the dark caverns of the clear water. All of our eyes widened to where there was more white then our eye color. I thought it had just been a rock, but this was a huge, dark colored snapping turtle. The two crawdads didn't even notice the turtle was there. They just kept fighting over their dead friend. Then out of nowhere my uncle had reached down into the lake and was pulling the turtle out in a matter of seconds. Jeff was never afraid of anything , and always wanted to add a little spice to what we were doing. I loved that about my uncle. The turtle was ugly it looked like a big mossy rock with four potatoes as legs dangling from the side. The next action that happened was one that I will never forget. My uncle had set the big ugly snapping turtle on the dock. A loud high pitched scream slipped out of my mouth as I turned and blasted off the dock . I snapped my head back to see how much distance there was between us. There was only a foot left to where the dock would come to an end.
