“Where here” says my mom. I look up thinking that I can finally get out of the car and stretch. Nope. We are in a line of about 6 cars waiting to get into Slide Rock State Park. I guess everyone decides to come here when it’s almost 90 degrees out. It’s the beginning of June and my family and I are spending the week in Sedona Arizona. It’s not just my immediate family it’s half of my mom's side of the family. There's 15 of us and we are all squished into two cars. We get in the front gate and I start to get excited. I can’t wait to slide down the rocks. We drive around the parking lot for awhile trying to find a parking spot. We find one and we all pile out of the cars. I get out and put on some sunscreen. It’s super …show more content…
We sit on the benches and play with the giant chess pieces. Our parents come out and we walk to the water. I can hear the water running down the rocks. It makes me even more excited. We get to the water and we look around. There is no sand or grass for you to put your stuff on. There is only rock. The rock isn’t flat so it’s hard to half on it. We find a spot near the shallow end to put our stuff. I look at the slide rock. It’s not anything that I thought it was going to be. It’s rocks that formed with a weird slide section and then it has water running down …show more content…
We walk to where the slide starts and wait in line. It’s my turn I sit down and I don’t even push off and I slide down the rock. The rocks slippery and I slide down bumping into the sides. There is one part where there is a dip in the rock and you almost go all the way under. I get to the end and slowly walk out of the way careful not to slip.
“Come on …. let’s go and jump off the rock.” says my aunt Marian. Most of us climb up the rocks to the top. Some of them stayed on the ground scared to jump off and some were too young to jump off. i got to the top and looked down. Maybe I don’t want to do this.
“Who’s going next?” asks my uncle Mark.
“We’ll go,” says my aunt Marian and my aunt Michelle. They get on the edge and jump off. Theirs arms and legs go flying in all different directions. It looks like so much fun, but were high up. When you jump off you have to jump out so you don’t hit a rock. That scares me. What if I can’t jump out far enough?
“.......... it’s your turn do you want to go with someone?” asks my sister Kendra.
“I want to go with you, but I don’t know if I want to go. Where really high up.” I say.
“Don’t be a chicken,” says my cousin
