Personal Narrative: Skiing

We loved to ski, my friends and I. Every Thursday was a chance to escape into the ski hill and leave all of our problems at the door of the ski lodge. Ski club was an essential part of our lives in the winter. There was no one telling us we couldn’t eat a cookie and fries for dinner. No one telling us we can’t scream and yelp with excitement like we did on the ski hill. My friends and I were known to be the last ones on the bus, and this week would be no exception. We had just finished dinner, and were looking forward to another hour or so of skiing. The hill we were at, Toggenburg Mountain, was not the greatest ski mountain around, nor was it anywhere close, but it had character. “Pfftttttt, no. Who do you think I am?” I said. We both laughed, because we both knew I was a nerd. Of course I had studied. This is the last run, I myself. We were running late that Thursday, and would have only 5 minutes to pack up all of our gear. If I made it down the hill, that is.
