The sleep had given me new vigor, but a sharp hunger still picked at me. I went to scavenge for something to eat before Rainsford woke up. After about an hour or two, I managed to gather a handful of berries, a raw egg, and some leaves. I went back to the place where we had slept, but Rainsford wasn’t there; he was over by an enormous building. He knocked on it and a droll creature with a long black beard came out.
