J was a generally nice kid who lived in a lower class condominium townhouse connected to my backyard. Eventually over time we became friends, and after that best friends. I met his family and bonded with them to the point I considered them my home away from home. There was nothing wrong with these people or their lifestyle from what I noticed at the time, but I always questioned a few things they did. J’s dad always worked very late, to the point I would only see him on weekends and if I spent thing night ever. His mom always made low budget meals and had a little corner in the already

    • Rebuilding schools • Fix the Railroad • Repair all farmland and farming equipment • Repair all factories, bridges, and canals If I was a northern government official assigned to help the south during reconstruction following the civil war I would start by help rebuilding schools. I would help schools by supplying money for books. Instead of being a white school it would benefit both races. I would help fix the railroad because railroad are needed for shipping goods, food, and weapons. I would hire all former slaves to help rebuild the railroad.…

I am known for the "American System" and known as the "Great Compromiser," however I have accomplished and been through so much more than that. Born in 1777 in Hanover County, Virginia, I was exposed to American history since I was young. In 1797, I moved to Kentucky along with many others wanting to pursue careers in law and politics. My political career began in 1803 when I was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly then appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1806. I was Secretary of State under John Quincy Adams.…

“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.” Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. I had always been afraid to try new things, yet when I did all I wanted to do was to experience more of them. For me, leaning how to pitch was one of the best experiences I have ever tried. I took something which I thought was going to be terrifying and turned it into a wonderful achievement of mine.…

McKeesport isn't one of the greatest places to live. In fact, it’s probably one of the worst in Allegheny County. After the decline of the Pittsburgh-region’s steel industry and the influx in gang activity, McKeesport became a cesspool of death, poverty, and demoralization. I moved to McKeesport when I was three. Growing up, McKeesport was always a depressing and discouraging environment.…

As hard as my relationship was with Thomas, I am grateful for what I learned from being with him. I learned that I am a strong and an independent person. I didn’t need him to make me feel secure and happy. According to Mendenhall (2014), intimacy dances work best when they support both people (Mendenhall, 2014b). I won’t sacrifice myself to a relationship again because the outcome will never make me happy.…

The only thing in the world that’s constant is war. It was an aphorism murmured in the sticky summer of 1864 as the Civil War tore America apart—and it was a truth that had only become more evident in my more than twenty years as a vampire. Every time I picked up the paper, there were stories of humans fighting humans: brawls on the streets of San Francisco, uprisings in India, insurrections all over Europe. And once blood had been shed and graves marked, they’d start all over again.…

In my understanding, that was my command to do. Give selfish treatment to one man but give all credible treatment to the other, who in all shed the same blood fighting. I became deeply distraught by this segregated treatment because of some set value one man has to have just by the color of his skin. In disgust, I still had to do what was meant for me to do. I would work on the black soldiers and a woman named Clara Barton would work on the white soldiers. I grew interest into wanting to know how she felt about this unfair situation, however it was prohibited to step near her or inside the white soldier’s tent.…

I do not have a particular stance for or against Calexit, but I am open to considering the movement. I both agree and disagree with Dave Marin’s opinion that California has a better opportunity to start towards the path of secession. Our Constitution, by his explanation, seems to dictate that we can secede, but I see a possibility for another civil war. If this situation comes to a civil war, I do not see California winning by a landslide, unless the state receives aid from Washington and Oregon, and they can create their own country of some Pacific States of America. Of course, it is not as if Calexit was not a movement before with social, economic, and geographic differences from the rest of the country.…
