Personal Narrative: Shark Life

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to explore and delve deep into the ocean. I dreamt of breathing underwater and discovering a vastly unknown world that surrounds all of us. This lead to my interest in Marine Biology and how it has pushed my character past any interfering influence. There were so many media outlets that helped drive my passion for the water. The best way I can imagine to spend my time is to relax on a couch watching some of the best ocean films in history. There are great ones like The Abyss, Finding Nemo, or more recently, The Shallows, as well as the pretty bad ones like Waterworld that are just plain fun to watch. I would get up early every year as a kid during July and August to watch every second of “Shark Week” that I could. …show more content…
If I had to live the life of one person, I think he would be quite high on that list. His characters in Hooper, Brody and Quint will weigh heavily on my life forever, and if I could be any combination of those three, my life would be complete. As much as the film and book are both major works of art in my heart, my favorite actual piece of artwork is The Great Wave off Kanagawa. I am especially enamored by how it vividly captures the ferocity of the ocean while still managing to encapsulate its beauty. My interest in the sea has impacted my entire life and I cannot imagine my childhood any other way, nor my future
