Personal Narrative-Settling In Colorado

Settling In Colorado It was my father who decided to take me to Colorado for my future and to continue my education. I felt shocked when I heard that he wanted to take me there. At the beginning I refused the idea because I did not want to leave Dubai and my friends. Dubai was a beautiful mansion to me, as it was my first love. When I came to Colorado, I felt like I was lost in a sea of nameless faces. I met family members that I never knew. Every time I remember Dubai, and the people back there, my heart swells with a sea of tears.
Time passed by, and slowly I started to settle in Colorado. My uncle is a nice man, as he welcomed me to live with him,he taught me how to drive, and everytime he talked to me his cotton candy words did appeal to me. The first day I enrolled in Rangeview High School, the school was packed with an army of children. Students and teachers were nice to me. During this same week, my cousin took me to watch the first high school football game. I did not know anything, but watching the quarterback throw, it felt like he was throwing rockets and bombs down the field.

The best present. However, was flying back to Dubai for the summer. The second I stepped out of the plane I felt like I was at home. It was an awesome feeling reuniting with my friends. I took a tour there, and seeing all these tall buildings, cool cars, and eating in fancy restaurants made me say to myself “Man it’s great to be back home.” My dad surprised me as he also took me to visit family in Jerusalem; then one day my uncle booked me a flight for me to travel with him and his family to New York and Orlando as a graduation present from him. We enjoyed our time there. I did not want to leave back to

Everyone in at some point in their life will experience an event that will change their life forever; ranging from either a physical or mental change, to one that challenges someone’s beliefs and viewpoints on the world. For me, I experienced all three of these changes during my time on the First Flight High School Swim Team. By being a part of the team, I was able to break away from a former negative aspect on life and realize the potential and knowledge one can gather from those around them. In order to discuss the changes I experienced with the team, we must first break down how and where it all began. After moving around for the majority of the early years of my life, my family would settle down in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina shortly after my father’s retirement from the U.S Coast Guard.…

I was both shocked and a little excited to move because I’ve always wanted to go south.…

Jealousy is just another part of everyday life. As shown in Bobbie Ann Mason 's "Being Country", the story just shows that it 's normal to be envious of others and just look at positive things in their lives while ignoring the negative things. For example, when Mason 's family was having dinner, instead of looking at it like a feast because of the plentiful food her family had. Mason looked at it as "fuel for work". Instead of always looking at the positive side, we as humans like to generate an unreasonable conclusion from what 's bad in our lives to what 's good in someone else 's.…
