Expecting Hannah’s team to appear racing down the finish line, I paid little consideration to anything except the fascinatingly diverse range of conversation around me. To my right, our coach was talking to a visitor, demonstrating something that apparently confused her. Behind me, a few friends were commandeering a barbeque, and to my left, away from the bay, one of my teammates was conversing with a friend about school.
After about forty-five minutes of watching and listening to the activities taking place around me, I finally decided that I was disinterested. I strolled over to the embankment and peered to the end of the bay, trying to investigate where the boats were. There was no sign of them, so I went back to the car. Suddenly, a Coast

The different fall sports had been presented, and as far as I knew, I had no plans whatsoever of participating in any sports—well, except for soccer which was a winter sport. As everyone dispersed to the different sections in the pavilion where each coach of the fall sports stood, I found myself sitting with others whose decision was like mine—not to play a sport. That changed when I heard one of my current best friends, Corinne, rushing down the bleacher stairs and begging me to go with her to the cross country meeting. I thought to myself, “hah, running long distance? yeah right,”…

The pain began slowly, pricking me with its sharp needles only while doing barre in ballet once a week. I ignored it, believing it to be normal, common discomfort that would soon go away, typical thoughts of a dancer whose entire sport is centered around “good pain”. Six months later, it had escalated to the degree that every step I took felt like an arrow to my knee. Dancing had become impossible, and it was determined that I should be taken to the orthopedist. The bland, brown and beige lobby became extraordinarily familiar as I waited two hours to be examined.…

When this essay was first introduced I was thinking about what event I should choose to attend due to the fact that the main focal point was to observe the audience and analyze. I was stuck between attending a sporting event or a play since both atmospheres would be very different. Eventually, fate helped me chose and I attended a sporting event. On Friday, January 13, at 7:00Pm, I decided to watch the Muskegon Risers SC; a local soccer team that my cousin plays for. Now, it was my first time ever attending a game in that arena and I began to take a couple notes just to see what terms fit with the specific audience.…

Being sacred is one of the things that I would not like to be in for a long time. Why because being scared is one of the things that no human bean should every have to go throw? I can remember every single detail and every event that led me to meeting some of the most fantastic people I will ever know. I remember it was November 12th, and I saw a post on Tumblr from a blog I follow, run by a transgender boy named Mikey from Vina, talking about seeing a band, FrnkIero andthe Cellabration live. I also happened to like this band, so we started talking, and I asked my mom if I could go to the concert, even though it was 2 hours away in San Francisco, and to my surprise, she said yes. We started talking back and forth through asks on Tumblr until we exchanged Kik usernames and started talking through there. Then one day, on January 11th, I met 2 more people going to the concert.…
