I can’t believe that I got the opportunity to take this trip, but now in my opinion this is probably not a good idea because this raggedy old carrier plane probably could never make it across the ocean. If it wasn’t for this plane having a small, dirty, and old jeep sitting in it collecting dust for what seemed to be years maybe it would not seem so terrifying. However all the money I had saved went into this horrifying plane ride, and my “room” on this island of dreams. After take off it was hours until I felt some major turbulence and then BANG! The plane’s cargo bay door flew open and started to suck everything in the bay out into the open air.…

When I was young, my sister and I never got along well. Neither of us were afraid to voice our thoughts, but we had opposite personalities, so that was an enormous complication. She would constantly whine whenever I practice the violin or piano that I was too loud and it was drowning out the music she was listening to. In return, I would always retort that her music was too loud and distracting. Well, I never actually called it “her music”: I referred to it as “garbage”.…

Hello Mr.Sass, this is Estela. I’m emailing you because I need to explain to you why I was late to class. It was another normal day, and as I was getting ready I noticed that some of my things were disappearing out of nowhere. As I walked into the bathroom to go brush my teeth, my toothpaste was gone, I went to go change out of my pajamas and my clothes I had picked out the night before were gone. I was really confused of why everything was going wrong.…

It was a week since I have last spoken to Cosmo and I started to suspect that he got himself killed by going in the eerie human’s house, but he has ventured into that abyss many times. I told him that we needed to get ready for the harsh winter by expanding our web so our children would have a well built web to rest on while they grew. I captured two moderate size flies that night. They looked very scrumptious, but I was reliant on my dear Cosmo to crawl his way back home so we could have shared dinner together. The next day I saw the blonde human get in his magic, toxic spitting box and roll away again.…

Today I did something that I haven't done in a while I sat down and prayed. I'm not one who's heavy on religion at all but it's been a bunch of difficult things occurring in my life, and I find that I’m quick to analyze, figure out, and try to put the pieces together. I guess what it comes down to is that I am somewhat of a control freak. For me, if I can’t have some control, I fool myself into thinking that I’ve got some sort of ability to “figure it out” in my head.…

The coming of autumn brought with it the amber glow of a dying summer and the chilling frost bitten earth of winter. The trees began to die and shed their orange, yellow, and brown leaves that wisped away in the casual morning air in Central Park, New York City. Finding a job here was pretty difficult for me, considering that I am an immigrate from China. I began my trek through the park thinking of all the application forms for all the office buildings that needed ink sown into the paper. Sighing, I headed to the center of the park.…

Expecting Hannah’s team to appear racing down the finish line, I paid little consideration to anything except the fascinatingly diverse range of conversation around me. To my right, our coach was talking to a visitor, demonstrating something that apparently confused her. Behind me, a few friends were commandeering a barbeque, and to my left, away from the bay, one of my teammates was conversing with a friend about school. After about forty-five minutes of watching and listening to the activities taking place around me, I finally decided that I was disinterested.…
