Personal Narrative: Sacrifice For A Good Life

Decent Essays
We live in a world of hardships and sacrifices. Nothing is free in life likewise nothing comes to those who aren't willing to work for it, as Lionel Messi (famous and well known soccer player) said, "You have to fight to reach your dream. You have to sacrifice and work hard for it." I am a daughter of two very hard working parents who have sacrificed a great deal of their life for a good life for me along with my siblings. However, this doesn’t mean I have an easy life, nor does this mean I had everything your average kid

It is hard for most people to accept that the life they have been given is one of a lower economic stature. I didn’t ask to be born into a working class family, but I am immensely grateful that I was. I grew up in a community of kids with parent’s all working blue collar jobs with minimal education. Living in an environment where everyone around you is living paycheck to paycheck provides a sense of false normalcy and security. It didn’t take long for me to realize how my friends from neighboring communities had it much better off than my family did.…

It’s very strange how one experience or choice you make in your life can change the rest of your life that follows that event, would you then in turn change these decisions you made. Such as your what if your mom conceived you not on the knowing basis. What if everyone was telling her not to because she was to be a single mom and that’s not a world a child should be born into, but then what if she challenged this belief that she grew up with. This then in turn affected all her choices later in life, but then vice versa what if she didn't challenge this belief and stuck with what she knew. This may be of the more extreme choices in life that some people must make but we all have that certain time in our life that comes where we must break away and make…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…

Being in a working middle class family, we never really struggled but we did not have to luxury lifestyle we always dreamed of. My dad always portrayed they messages of “you do not have to work because your parents work, but you are going to work to understand that you have to work hard for your money”. I am very much spoiled but my parents did make me go find job to get the feeling of what most working middle class felt like. Even though I was spoil and often times received what I wanted, the lesson my dad wanted me to learn was that my parents are not going to always be able to spoil me so I need to understand what it felt like to work hard for money I wanted to use for my wants.…

When I was young, my sister and I never got along well. Neither of us were afraid to voice our thoughts, but we had opposite personalities, so that was an enormous complication. She would constantly whine whenever I practice the violin or piano that I was too loud and it was drowning out the music she was listening to. In return, I would always retort that her music was too loud and distracting. Well, I never actually called it “her music”: I referred to it as “garbage”.…

At approximately 1234 hours on Friday, August 21, 2025, I stopped a blue 2010 Toyota on MO-350 Eastbound 0.1 mile west of the intersection of Westchester Road in Raytown, Missouri. The car started to stop slowly until it came to a complete stop. I then parked my car about 7ft behind the vehicle. I got out of my patrol car and started making my way towards the vehicle.…
