Coming up to Coach Bentson’s place on the track I could hear him say something but wasn't sure what frankly I had a general idea of what he was going to say anyways..
Before I knew it we were on the third lap. time to pick it up a bit. Pushing a little harder I closed the five meter gap in between me and the tall lanky kid in front of me. As I past him I could hear his breath, short and quick. I instantly forgot about him and focused on my next target that was about thirty meter ahead. Keeping the same pace I slowly but surely was catching up to him. Without any warning the tall lanky kid was back, and was hell bent on beating the shortest kid in the race, me. He flew past me and the runner I had been trying to catch up
