There was so many people, everyone looked like skyscrapers. Someone in the distance yelled, we slowly made our way to the start. Nerves were building up, I’d never done anything like this. There’s a first for everything. I kept telling myself I could do it, but my stomach was telling me, we were going to throw up. The man yelled again, I got in my stance and we all stood there, waiting. The wait is always awful, it’s intense. I could feel the butterflies building up.
There was a bang and everyone pushed their way to the front. I was tiny, it was hard to fight against all these monsters. I was pushed to the back, but I wasn’t giving up. I picked it up, passing people one by one. It was like a never ending game of tag, since no one would tag each other. My legs were starting to get tired. I felt weak but strong at the same time. I couldn’t feel them, but I was 5th now working my way to the top. I don’t even know how far I was, how far I had to go, but I just knew that I was almost there. I was in my own little world, that I didn't even notice all the animals running beside us. It was like I was in a jungle. You could hear the noises in the trees, the cheetahs panting, elephants stomping, and my heart racing. My imagination took over. It’s like I was on a cloud, and there was a song in my head like always. The music blocks out the feeling of pain. Reality started to come back but I could still see the clearing of the jungle. I was almost there. I was in 2nd, so close. I kept going, breathing heavy, running harder. The last monster was getting closer to me. The escape was closing in. I had to win. I could feel my legs going faster. She kept getting farther away, then closer, then farther
