I ran for close to an hour before something strange happened… I found Damien. Just sitting there in the middle of the forest looking at the flowers. I became flustered, he looked so gorgeous in the afternoon light with his auburn hair and sparkling blue eyes. My own riding career thus far had been a roller coaster ride, tendency to second guess myself battled continually with my natural instincts. Over thinking things led me to over riding, and my mixed signals led my horse to produce ignorance. My consistence hesitation caused my horse and I to become mentally stuck. It was many years ago that I found myself to be away from home the first time. I was a cub scout then and was super nervous. I was always super cautious and wary of dangers hiding behind the corner. I thought that something would jump out and scare me, or drag me to my doom. I felt more comfortable being at home versus being in the wilderness, where I felt exposed to the unknown and maybe the wrath of mother nature.…

When I was very little, walking up the trail with a pack on my back and the dog at my side, I would reach out and pull leaves from the bushes and trees. As imaginary lasers and rockets exploded against the ships' hulls, I would rip off little pieces of bark and let them fall to the forest floor.…
