Personal Narrative: Running A Small Business

Many events that transpire in our daily lives can shift the way we perceive brand-new things. From miniature events like picking up an exotic colored frog in the sewers to find out that it’s highly poisonous, will have you reconsider the choice that you make in the future when you encounter events similar to this. Big events like having a family of clothed bears breaking into your home and the bears make it their home will have you to really reconsider for a major life change. Whether it’s a small or big event, any of them can change the way you view and think about things. For myself, the event that struck me like a lightning bolt was the beginning and the end of my business. Before I started my fallen business, I ran a small business. However, even before even that, I didn’t run any business. The store started out small and then became larger than I’d have ever imagined. I started to sell items that were beyond my capability. Meaning, not only I was selling items that I owned, but, I was also selling items that my friends and family donated to me. The possessions I was selling on eBay during that time were things that I wouldn’t use or look at anymore. Things like toys that I used to own when I was little, books that I read as a child, and many more items related to my youth age. The things that my friends and family gave me were mostly clothing and electronics. There were piles and piles of clothing and broken tape recorders that were filling up the living room of my house. My mom would yell at me a lot for making our house looking like a garbage dump. Eventually, as time went by, many of those items were sold and the place started to look like a living room
