had tried a number of ways to solve our differences. One major problem was this teacher’s rude treatment of me in front of the children. She had very poor communication skills, making it extremely difficult to have a discussion about anything we disagreed on. In the past I had tried to help her improve in this area. When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

I hate it when I have prepared, a carefully crafted soliloquy, a sentiment of pure splendor, a plethora of plentiful thought, and my script is discard within seconds because the conversation takes a detour. Conversations are inimitable and completely wild. They roam from topic to topic without a glance at the well written thoughts I have so tedious prepare the night before. When I reach a place to interject a bit of my rehearsed dialogue, it comes unnatural and the conversation withers within seconds. This only contributes to the fascination and passion I have for writing.…

During this weekend, I can say that I experienced all three levels of communication. It is something that at first, I did not realize that I was being that particular way. During the course of my day, then I would realize. For example, the I-It communication level is something that I experience everyday and I’m sure we all do. When I pick up my coffee, when I buy clothes, and when I walk into a store etc.…

The Power to Win must come from Within Before I entered the school I looked it up on a webpage Zillow.com. I know that my mom and my sister would use it a lot. “Facta-Non-Verba: Deeds not Words,” I read those words online when I researched the fraternity, and was immediately impressed with the meaning that they convey. However, it was not until the information session, where I heard the words aloud, did they really impact me, and caused me to pause in consideration. Some words carry a certain power that causes inflection and reflection when spoken aloud. When I heard the phrase aloud, I honestly felt moved, and inwardly remembered back to when I was in high school where I demonstrated “Facta-Non-Verba.”…

Imagine standing in a line at a store preparing to pay for your items and right before it is your turn to checkout, a couple cuts in front of you. Even though it sounds unlikely, this exact scenario happened to me while standing in line at a local Wal-Mart in Tallahassee. While standing with a surprised look on my face, I watched the couple slowly walk up and place their items on the belt to proceed to checkout. Many emotions traveled through my mind as I witnessed the couple cut in front of everyone waiting in line. Initially, I was angry because of the family’s disrespect…

I, Bashir Abdul Jamil, request a grade appeal on a class that I took during fall semester 2016. The class was PED 101-04 and was taught by instructor Christiann Rogers. The initial reason that I have requested the grade appeal was because instructor Rogers failed to provide me my exam by stating that she doesn’t keep the papers once the new semester begins(will provide emails for this), therefore I proceed with the grade appeal. I went through the proper procedures and steps insuring that I’ve done everything that I could and the instructor stated multiple times in multiple emails that she doesn’t have the exam. The whole process takes a long time and it is a stressful process.…

It was back and forth for a while. My guidance counselor would call me down to his office to discuss the idea that my high school was going to cut the AP chemistry class for the following year and I had to pick a new science class for my junior year. When I asked why he told me that there were only eleven people signed up for the class and that they wanted fifteen to keep it open. To be fair it was understandable that most people would not want to sign up. Many found honors chemistry to be incredibly difficult and would be happy to be rid of it once they finished their final in June.…

We met in high school through mutual friends and we dated throughout my junior and senior years.
