Personal Narrative: Roller Coaster Ride

Improved Essays
Whoosh! The big roller coaster zoomed past me. It was my first time at Six Flags. So far we had rode about six roller coasters and we were waiting in line to ride the Joker. I watched as each cart slowly crawled up the tracks till they reached the top, then all of a sudden the cart would begin to lean forward and spin upside down while it followed the track’s ups and downs until finally, Bam! Screech! Clunk! The cart would come to a screeching halt and as the people inside waited to be let out, the cart swung back and forth until it slowed down to a stop. Finally, when the snotty teenage employee got to the persons cart to let them out, the same people would stumble off to the next roller coaster while still recovering from this one. …show more content…
I mean, I guess so.” On the outside, I was playing it cool. But on the inside, I was screaming with fear that I was going to fall out and die! I looked up at the bright green and purple roller coaster, it spun around in circles as if to taunt me with every spin. We moved forward in the line once more. By this time my sister and I were only four people away from a death wish. A few minutes later it was our turn, the employee quickly opened the gate and strapped my sister and I along with two other people we didn’t know into our cart. As the last cart came to a halt at the end of the line, our cart slowly shifted forward which only increased the anticipation. Soon enough it was our turn, we crawled up the track what seemed as slow as a turtle. As we turned upside down my heart dropped to my stomach and I pinched my eyes closed as hard as possible, knowing that if I opened them I would be sick to my stomach. Before I knew it, we came to a screeching a halt. Once I realized we were stopped, I opened my eyes one by one and attempted to calm down. When the employee finally got to our cart to let us out, I slowly regained my balance and walked over to the nearest bench to sit down and rest. My heart was still pounding a mile a minute in my chest. And I felt as if I was invincible with the rush of adrenaline still pumping through my body. After we recovered from the Joker, we went on to ride some more roller coasters until it was finally

A few years ago, on a class trip, my friends had asked me to ride at least one roller coaster. It was not a large roller coaster, but it made me queasy just looking at it. I was confident that I would be able to go on and enjoy the experience. My confidence quickly evaporated when we began climbing up the roller coaster’s first hill. The ride dropped, and I was screaming so loudly that I could only hear myself.…

I remember the gut wrenching feeling in my stomach as my best friend and I approached the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hershey Park, called SkyRush. I am not sure why I agreed to go on this roller coaster, considering most of the time at amusement parks I entertain myself with food, and miniature rides that stay level to the ground. Unlike me, my friend liked the rush and heart dropping feeling of being at the apex of a roller coaster and then dropping down at maximum speed. Personally, I preferred the ground, where I remained in full control of my own safety. Yet that afternoon I found myself standing in line for SkyRush.…

Well I had gone to Six Flags and when I had got there I was so anxious to get on every ride in Six Flags but then I had heard a person on the Goliath scream ”stop the ride” it was so funny and scary at the same time. Then I saw that almost every ride had so many twists and turns and even circles that go round and round. Last year I had gone on a roller coaster which was the Mind Bender and it wasn’t so scary. The Mind Bender had so many circles that go round and round.…

Sit back, buckle up, and get ready to scream because I love roller coasters. My family and I go to Cedar Point about every month in the summer, and my dad and I go and ride everything in the park. It is just so fun! The one thing I really like about roller coasters is that there are little rides for the youth kids also. My least favorite thing is when I am not tall enough to enjoy a ride, which doesn’t really occur anymore.…

So this meant that my brother and sister got to sit in the very front of the roller coaster car, and my dad and I were right behind them. When we got in, it seemed like no time had passed from when we got in the line, to when we were seated in the ride getting ready for a moment that I would never forget. We waited for about 30 seconds for the workers to make sure everybody was strapped in safely. When the carts then started down this tiny slope to a straight away over the water. I was a mix of scared and excited for the ride.…

I had never had so much fun with obnoxiously loud carnival music blasting in my ears, small children stupidly goofing off in front of me, and the smell of food that was so greasy it made my stomach turn. Things that usually gave me a migraine, now made me intoxicated on my own cheerfulness. However, everyone knows that all good things must come to an end. Shortly after my dad and I had exited the carousel, it was time for us to leave the park.…

Seven years ago, my friends and I went to an amusement park and like any other young child, I couldn’t wait to ride every single rollercoaster there was. I loved each one, irrespective of the number of loops it had or how fast it went. However, this changed when I got on one called the drop-tower. As the name suggests, it was a monstrous tower that carries riders up in a gondola to the top of the tower and then suddenly the gondola drops down. In seconds, it dropped me 100 feet down in the air, as I heard the echoes of a hundred-people screaming.…
